With specific circumstances with those two cases not long established precedent. I'm not saying the firing would be overturned in court but would like to see it go there. Politicizing the SSA is NOT a good idea and that is the reason for the 10 year terms.

Inflation by what measure. Inflation guesses and estimates?

    Are Wages Rising or Flat?

    ....
“I don’t know that there is a best measure,” Michael R. Strain, the director of economic policy studies and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, told us. “I really think it just depends on what you’re trying to look at.” To evaluate what’s happened to wages, you need to pick a measure, then pick a way to adjust for inflation, and then pick a base year for comparison, Strain said.

And each decision can lead to a different result.

.......The president appears to echo Sanders in saying there have been “decades of flat wages.” In fact, the Trump campaign pointed us to a 2018 Pew Research Center report that said the “average hourly wage has just about the same purchasing power it did in 1978, following a long slide in the 1980s and early 1990s and bumpy, inconsistent growth since then.”

But it’s not true that wages have been “flat” for “decades.” Wages have risen, faster than inflation, over the last several presidencies.

Trump’s own Council of Economic Advisers contradicts his “decades of flat wages” claim, saying 2018 was “the sixth consecutive year of positive real hourly earnings growth for nonsupervisory workers and the longest streak since the eight years of consecutive earnings growth from 1995 through 2002.” (The CEA adjusts for inflation using the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, or PCE, not the Consumer Price Index that BLS uses.)

As our graph above illustrates, BLS figures also show many years of real wage growth over the last two-plus decades.

It is true that inflation-adjusted wages (average weekly for production and nonsupervisory workers) peaked in February 1973 at $345.95, and then fluctuated but generally declined, hitting a low point of $263.73 in January 1996. They have again fluctuated since, but they’ve been on a general upward trend. They have increased 2.4% since Trump took office, from an average $308.21 per week to $315.74 per week in May, the most recent figures available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Technical note: All wage figures cited in this story from BLS are calculated in 1982-84 dollars – not current 2019 dollars.

During Obama’s last four years in office the average weekly earnings for production and nonsupervisory workers went up 4.9%. Over Obama’s entire two-term tenure, wages were up 4.2%.

Over President George W. Bush’s eight years in office, wages also increased by 4.2%, and under President Bill Clinton, they went up by 6.4%. (Real average weekly earnings for all private sector employees, including supervisors, shows a similar trend, though BLS only has published statistics going back to 2006. Those figures are up 2.3% under Trump, 3.9% under Obama’s second term and 4% over his eight years in office.)

Don't be obtuse ... search for "Obama tax cuts"

    Here, let me help anyway...

Why should you get snitty ("... your false claims") because I won't work as your unpaid researcher?

About 10% over 40 years? That's rising "dramatically?"

You Republican types wonder why average folks are going squirrelly?
It pays much less. Anyway, why should average folks share in the increased wealth. You figure they should fight and maybe die to protect your butt? Maybe the next time there's a war, they'll raise their middle finger in your face.

In 1964 when I worked in a grocery store, retail clerks made $3.05/hour. In today's dollars, that would be $26.82/hour.

    https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=3.05&year1=196401&year2=202106

What grocery store clerk, even in a union, makes $26.82/hour?

That sounds much more like a strategy brewed up on a Dem conspiracy site than anything a GOP would ever remotely consider.

Then the CPAC staff allowed them to be distributed. Why would they do that?

What's the mental disorder you see and think needs addressed? Also, how does it cause him to make such a statement?

Where were your crocodile tears over politicizing the SSA when the last guy would not even put a person up for confirmation?

Okay I went to the TrumpSoar website. Looks like this was a joke that TrumpSoar, not CPAC, passed out some cards for at the conference. Several Dem websites went crazy over this but I can't find a single GOP that considered this anything more than humor. Apparently they thought it amusing to find a bizarre path for DT back to the WH.

I think they thought it was a realistic path. Of course, now that they've been called on it, it's "oh, we were just joking." Hasn't Trump tried to pull that one several times? I think they also actually thought that "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" was a phrase in the preamble to the Constitution and that Rush was telling them the truth...or were they just joking about that as well?

Because it was being withheld? By whom by Saul? I my check was deposited within days. And you are talking less than TWO WEEKS. OH the SSA didn't have the exact information ready and waiting to be picked up by the IRS? They have these existing list of people who don't file income taxes? How does the SSA know that by default?

"In a quintessential example of government bureaucracy inhibiting action, the SSA “had to first establish a reimbursable agreement with the IRS to fund the work providing the files, and then had to test the new system,” according to The Hill. Saul added that once the SSA was free to move forward, it “aggressively worked with Treasury and IRS to issue payments,” Saul said. He noted information was delivered to the IRS more than a week earlier than files were sent for the first economic impact payments. "Social Security employees have literally worked day and night with IRS staff to ensure that the electronic files of Social Security and SSI recipients are complete, accurate, and ready to be used to issue payments,” he added."

You haven't a scintilla of evidence of that. Read your own link. The Dems were told before passage that funding would have to be provided and they failed to include it in the bill, then the proper agreements had to be put in place between the SSA AND the IRS and Treasury which are run by Biden. Did he fast track it as Trump would have?

Yeah a political humor web site named TrumpSoar does not represent the GOP. Only taken serious by far-left web sites.

Obama was the last guy who didn't put someone up for conformation. He tried to skirt the confirmation process with an "acting" administrator. When the court ruled Obama's acting administrator who he had running it without a confirmation hearting was told by the court she could no longer carry the title Trump appointed Saul and his Deputy.

Yea some people get together and pick some consumer items and then monitor cost and then declare that is the inflation rate. Just one inflation measure. As I showed even factoring that wages have not been flat.

Sorry...I'm not familiar with it. I know what I hear from Rush...and verified it with a transcript. The cards pointing out a seven step process to making Trump President again, via the Speaker of the House sounds a bit nutty. If it wasn't a joke, it should have been.

That's who made the cards. Not sure what Rush has to do with it since he's not around other than the web-site mentions that they want to continue his kind of humor in politics.
