He was fired because he didn't quit. I gave you the clear evidence it's a political appointment.

You didn't take inflation into account, I did.

They went up 80% in that graph, from 5 to about 25 an hour. In that same time frame inflation was 198.9%.

Seems wages are lagging far, far behind inflation.

You have proof that is what he was doing?

The private sector is allowing more telework than ever. ATT in St Louis is allowing 50% of their employees to work from home full time. My brother is an architect, he was told by his company last month that he never has to go back to the office ever again, he works from home 100% of the time and only leaves to go to a construction site.

This will be the lasting legacy of COVID-19, the idea people have to be in an office to be productive has been destroyed.

In the end it really does not matter, SCOTUS has ruled that POTUS has the right and the power to fire people like this guy.

CPI. Anyway, Republicans are consistently trying to screw average folks. They want to make you wait longer to get your benefits and they're worried sick rich people might be taxed to contribute to the SS fund. Worse still, Republicans go bonkers over the idea they might have be to support Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare.

You are oversimplifying. Not ALL posts are automatically refilled, with each new Administration; for instance, FBI Director, & (I would guess) Postmaster General are not usually partisan positions, that is, positions in which being on the same page, policy-wise, w/ the incoming Administration, is a relevant factor. The same would typically be true for positions of authority in the CDC and NIH. These are positions in which competence in one's field should be the primary determinant.

In this particular case, as both our members have posted, & the Office of the President had explained, the appointee was not performing his duties adequately, in fact he was clearly against the agency's mission, and had been an unqualified pick, to begin with. Likewise, as noted by RoccoGiarre--
-- the Postmaster General, in this case, is an exception to the norm, in that he is not supportive of his own agency's mission.

A further example is the relatively new CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau), which I would think is not going to have its director replaced, as a matter of course, with each new Administration. But, once more, Pres. Trump put in someone to "run," the agency, who did not believe in the value of that agency's existence; therefore, it was incumbent upon Pres. Biden to replace this director.

So, some positions are automatically restaffed. Others usually aren't. If the director or executive of the agency is not performing up to snuff, it is more than the prerogative, but the duty, of the head of our executive branch of government, the President, to put in people to make those agencies run as they are intended. And, provided that is the President's goal, as well, he/she has the right to install whoever they see as the best people.

Oh bs, too and you know it. Several President's supported slavery. Should they then all support slavery still? By your logic, we shouldn't have elections, since Presidential policies never change. I didn't vote for Biden just to see him repeat Trump's mistakes

And really I supported most of Trump's actions in this regard, but that was just because they were such raging incompetents to begin with, every single goddmed one of them and it was such fun to watch him throw his best friends (couldn't find nicer guys) under the moving Greyhound. He would then go on to appoint even worse if he replaced them at all (Hitleresque to the end he took over more and more personally as time went on)

His deliberate foot-dragging on giving the IRS the data necessary to issue timely stimulus payments to Social Security and disability recipients.

But Biden did exactly what Trump did. Fired people that needed to be fired. The two men are the same. My work is done here.

I love conservatives, always crediting themselves for doing what nobody asked for while leaving necessary things undone

Trump appointed fools and then fired them when they couldn't or wouldn't do things even more foolish than they were.

Biden IS the same as Trump, Both have 2 arms and legs, that is the only similarity I can see

You are right. Biden is a lifetime politician that has been paid off for doing absolutely nothing. You are welcome for that clarification.

How did he alone manage to do that that and I'm on SS and I got mine within DAYS of the release. So what are you even talking about? And it's supposed to be RECOVERY payments anyway. What income did those people including me lose to COVID? Our payments came right on time.

Oh stop with the fear talk Republicans do not go bonkers and demand an end to those programs, they want to reform them to make them better and sustainable.

So what's the Biden administration going to do now about the explosion of disability claims and making the SS administration itself more effective if what it does.

It's what they were complaining about. And companies are calling back workers. And now the SSA has been politicized and is there for the protection of the SS workers not the proper management and function of the administration.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/30/del...cial-security-recipients-to-be-sent-soon.html

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/shahar...eficiaries-could-go-out-soon/?sh=27a467ac704b

Roughly 30 million Social Security (SS) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients are still waiting for their $1,400 stimulus checks. President Biden signed the $1.9 trillion stimulus package into law on March 11 and the Internal Revenue Service disbursed over 127 million payments since then. However, SS and SSI recipients have been left waiting because the Social Security Administration (SSA) hadn’t provided the IRS necessary payment data to send out stimulus payments. On Thursday, the SSA confirmed that it had sent over the necessary data, which means that the IRS should be able to send out stimulus checks to the roughly 30 million eligible Americans soon.

Finger Pointing On Delayed Data For Sending $1,400 Stimulus Checks
The House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Massachusetts) and several leaders had sent a letter to the IRS and SSA on Monday “expressing concern” about delays in automatically issuing stimulus checks to SS and SSI recipients who are not required to file a tax return. Single individuals over the age of 65 are typically not required to file a tax return if they less than $14,000 and married couples are usually not required to file if they earn less than $24,800. “There is no excuse for the delay this round, which puts critical assistance on hold for millions of Americans in need,” the leaders wrote.

The Ways and Means Committee blamed the SSA claiming that the IRS had asked for the payment information several weeks before Biden had signed the Covid-relief bill. However, the SSA pushed back, saying in a statement that it had been unable to provide the data to the IRS earlier. While the agency had already been in discussions with the IRS, they did not have authorization to send beneficiary files before the American Rescue Plan was enacted. "The Social Security Act does not allow the agency to use our administrative appropriation to conduct work on any non-mission provision or program. Accordingly, we were not authorized to substantively engage Treasury or IRS prior to the [American Rescue Plan's] passage."

I generally don't approve of names that refer to a person's skin color, even if it's orange. In this case, though, I'll make an exception, because Orange Jesus is just a damn good name.

Even if that skin color isn't found in nature? It's not like it's mocking anything the Tangerine Turd was born with. He spends good money to be that god-awful shade of ochre.

    Code for cutting benefits.
Disability benefits have been an early retirement program for years. Under Trump, too.

Solution? Greater scrutiny of claims and/or increased taxes.

I did not post a graph, and your graph showed that wages went up less than half of what inflation did in the same time period.

There have been two SCOTUS ruling that affirmed the power of the POTUS to fire such people. This is not new.
