Cook's paper has not been pointed out to be garbage, and it IS peer reviewed science.

Well, again, you can't spend every moment of your life watching the millions of hours of flat-earth youtube videos. But also, if I did and I decided the earth was actually flat, that doesn't mean that I did more research than NASA, and know more than they do. It just means that I didn't understand the information.

Why focus only on the U.S.?

    https://time.com/5736322/venice-flooding-climate-change/

Just because your town isn't experiencing climate change disasters doesn't mean the rest of the world isn't seeing it. I hope you don't live in Florida.

If you do, may I suggest moving to higher ground? Works for me. I like living at 6,300 feet.

Is that a joke? Considering the source, someone who won't read even the articles linked in specifically for them, I have to assume you're kidding when you scold someone else for not doing their homework.

You could have just said you don’t know. You only propose assumptions based possibly on the logical fallacy of appeal to authority.

No, that's not appeal to authority. In fact, what you just used was an argument from fallacy. If I said it's true because al gore says so, that's an appeal to authority. If I say it's true because every scientific organization that studies it came to that conclusion, and it is the scientific consensus, that is critical thinking. One should know their limits.

Here's an analogy for you. Let's say you were diagnosed with cancer. you get several other opinions, say 5. They all say the same thing, and maybe even one says they aren't sure. Also, someone selling crystals says you don't, and they give you a convincing sciency sounding story about your energies and how you actually just need to buy their crystals which are so much cheaper and easier than cancer treatment. It isn't an appeal to authority to believe the doctors because they are experts.

Would you go to a mechanic to get an opinion? Many of the agreements come from organizations that do no climate science.

On my phone so limited but I read your first link. Did you? The two questions asked are yes even from those scientists labeled ‘deniers’. The problem with consensus are the questions asked or the methods used. When you delve deeper you will find much disagreement.

Here is what the wall street journal says

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/in-pro...oal-country-the-jobs-keep-leaving-11572269967

basically West Virginia mining is not doing well
Apparently coal prices are too low for profitability

this is partly related to lower costs of production in the west Where coal lies near the surface

And also, surprisingly, weak demand for this coal for steel production

Of course you would go to a mechanic for an opinion. In those surveys, the higher the level of expertise, the greater the agreement. Many organizations that agree with the science don't do climate science, but no organizations that do climate science disagree.

Reminds me of a cute story...
I was visiting my brother’s family for Christmas
As we spent time together, I became clear that my young nephew was fascinated by trucks
When driving around, he would call our attention to distant trucks

time for Christmas Day gift opening finally arrived
My nephew eagerly opened all of his presents (including some new socks)
And upon opening his last present, he slumped
And filled with disappointment he shrugged: “No trucks!”

I suggest you locate a German or Japanese forum given they are actually using more coal and not less.

The problem Alarmists have is they are actually deniers. Ask them how they plan to be in charge of climate and they deny man is in charge of climate. If man is not in charge, forget it. Man can't change climate.
