It’s a game - set up a strawman, refuse to define what you mean then keep moving the goalposts. These boards have an ignore function and I am tempted

There is no shift. The earth has been warming since the end of the little ice age. The enhanced CO2 effect hypothesis has been disproven. But the increased atmospheric CO2 has been beneficial as has the current global warming.

Propaganda and speculation. Read Richard Tol’s textbook on climate economics to see the benefits.

Tuvalu is 2 meters above sea level. Strong winds cause flooding.

There are 1.1 billion Air Conditioned homes in the world. It is projected that this number will rise to 6.1 billion by 2050. I suppose you want to power all those additional units with fossil fuels? Then we’ll start upping the sizes of the AC units. How’s your Utopian warming starting to sound now?

Sorry, but the public attack that's alleged merely mirrored the cautious language of the IPCC itself.
And again, Exxon published and/or shared with the IPCC all their research results.

Regular refutation must indeed be discouraging.

Absolutely. Fossil fuels or nuclear. Fossil fuels have been the key to the high standard of living enjoyed by developed nations. The number one goal of the United Nations should be to raise the standard of living of those in developing nations. The increased atmospheric CO2 will continue to have benefits for agriculture and again there is no direct evidence that this CO2 is responsible for global warming and indeed the scientific method shows that the enhanced CO2 effect hypothesis is incorrect. There is not such thing as "Utopian" warming.

You just said it. Utopian warming is your argument. But one thing you said was right, if your Utopian warming is adopted. Earlier you said that Atmospheric CO2 will never come down. That’s true under your Utopian Warming. Not only will it not come down. It will go way, way up. Pathetic.

Increasing the standard of living by providing access to inexpensive energy available 24/7 is my argument. If you believe in the enhanced CO2 effect you as an engineer know that the effect is logarithmic. And hopefully you also understand that as the global standard of living increases birth rates go down. One problem of highly developed nations is low birth rates. You should also understand that technology will also increase at a high rate in conjunction with increased standards of living. Improved applications of nuclear energy are currently available and will be developed. Nuclear energy is the future.

Earlier you stated that the amount of High Level Radioactive Waste in the world was “minuscule”, despite the fact that over 400,000 tons are stored worldwide. That’s 400,000 TONS! Nobody on this Forum can trust your words.

And you want to “increase the standard of living” by forcing people to purchase the most overpriced electricity on the planet. Good one mate!

That is what renewables are doing - they are still the cheapest energy

The energy ROI on wind and solar is not sufficient to enable an increasing global standard of living.

That amount which ha been accumulated during the last ~ 6 decades is minuscule on a global basis.

Nuclear energy is the key to the future. The costs are high due to Malthusian regulations. The energy ROI of nuclear is ~ 70. The energy ROI of wind and solar is ~ 5.

Absolutely! Last year, 118 GW of wind capacity was added worldwide. In the US, more than 32 GW of solar was installed! That energy by itself would have required 150 nuclear power plants, Each of those plants would create 2000 tons of radioactive waste per year that will be left to future generations to manage for hundreds of thousands of years.

Lols! Stop making me laugh! Have you seen what places like Kenya are doing with Geothermal? Africa has massive potential for Solar https://www.iea.org/reports/africa-energy-outlook-2022/key-findings#
And let’s not go there for pacific islands who often have to rely on fuel being shipped in. See this is where it is wise to think globally

But your counter “arguments are unfounded speculation and there is more to why Tuvalu is at risk and sadly it is not the only pacific nation

It is NOT”minuscule” on any basis. This is 100% DECEPTION.
Nuclear waste is … a millennia's worth of lethal garbage

    https://news.stanford.edu/stories/2022/05/small-modular-reactors-produce-high-levels-nuclear-waste

Stanford-led research finds small modular reactors will exacerbate challenges of highly radioactive nuclear waste

And it is not just that. Being an Aussie I am acutely aware of how the pacific has struggled to generate power in the past. Often shipping in gigalitres of diesel, creating more waste and toxins.

    Bougainville is interesting

Solar is a dead end for developing nations. The Chinese Communist Party knows this and is providing fossil fuel power plants as part of their debt diplomacy strategy.
