Big-time Haley donors switch to backing Biden – not Trump

Well that is just crazy!

Apparently the big money folks who backed Haley are not backing Trump now that she is out of the race.

Indeed, it appears the they are picking Biden.

And why not? I can't imagine someone that supported Hillary as some sort of ant-Trumper person would suddenly lower their standards and give money to help the campaign of the guy numerous felonies who spouts unhinged nonsense constantly. Also interesting to note that Trump's campaign is lacking in funds compared to Biden's with his money going to legal fees and folks just not sending in their MAGA-dollars.

The Biden campaign has been attempting, and apparently succeeding, at recruiting donors to the now-suspended campaign of former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

The Democratic campaign apparatus already has a significant lead over the Republicans when it comes to funding. The Biden campaign recently announced it has $155m in cash on hand and that it raised $54m in February alone, while former President Donald Trump’s committees had $36.6m in cash on hand at the end of January, with one month less of fundraising having been reported publicly.


One of the Haley backers who have been pulled over to the Biden side is Harry Sloan, a former MGM executive. He got a call from Jeffrey Katzenberg, a media proprietor and former chair of Walt Disney Studios, about helping Mr Biden win the 2024 election.


“People I know who are generally business Republicans, they’re going to hear from me,” Mr Sloan told CNBC about fundraising for Mr Biden.

Mr Sloan is one of several former Haley bundlers – top campaign fundraisers – who have joined the Biden cause instead of boosting the Trump campaign, the outlet reported.

That's true, we're seeing blacks and Hispanics run, not walk, to Trump's side.

We knew all along the haley supporters were democrats who wouldnt vote for her after primaries regardless of her winning. We all knew this, and told you all this.

 

And we knew all along that the faithful,would find some way to blame democrats instead of the fact that many are sick and tired of the sore time loser

I would love to see what policies they believe actually did help them because when you look at the long term implications of his administration (alienating, trade partners, trade wars, massive deficit spending 30%+ of all debt ever was added under trump), giveaways to corporations, quantitative easing, negative interest rates — are net negatives for our nation.

Unfortunately so many people are financially illiterate and think muh gas prices were lower so trump did better… It’s troubling.

No surprise that the educated see the data for what it is and realize how much of a dumpster fire trump was.

Now if Trump were smart, he can actually use this in his campaign. "Democrats always like to say they're for you. But since 2018, they've accepted big donor shadow money. Now imagine that, they rallied against Citizens United, but now they're the biggest beneficiaries of Shadow Money. We don't know where it's coming from or who it's coming from and it was the Democrats who told us that was dangerous and now they're readily accepting it."

So Trump's platform is: "our party brought Citizens United to the courts. Our allies in the Supreme Court made it the law of the land. Now that we are slightly underperforming (let's not kid ourselves, the Dems advantage is only like 10 percent) we will demand that republicans in congress pass a bullshit law just so that we can have it challenged and brought to the Supreme Court where our allies that we installed on the court will now overturn themselves and a law that we fervently fought for. We fought for this ability to access to untraceable money by calling it free speech. Now that it is slightly against us we will call it dark money. We have made the most specious arguments to favour our party under the guise of free speech (corporations are people, money is free speech, intimidating witnesses is free speech, forcing private companies to distribute material that they opposed is free speech) but now that the other party is outperforming us, we will completely reverse our thought and we are totally against this particular form of free speech that we fought so hard for only 15 years ago."
And sadly the MAGA crowd will now chant out their hatred for the most unfair Citizens United. Kind of like the whole Republican Party was going to cancel TikTok for security reasons and the future of our children, but now are totally pro TikTok after just one tweet from Trump.
