Absolutely not. The last book I purchased from a talking head was Rush's first book, The Way Things Ought to Be. That was about 25 years ago. I don't listen to some people because all they do is sell books. I've never read a Mark Levin book, although I'm sure it's more informative than anything O'Reilly has done. Has he ever written anything without someone else's help? And don't get me started on Savage. F-in perpetual infomercial for his books. No, I don't read these people, although I mostly agree with their ideologies.

 

There is no comparison then and now, that's folly for the purpose of political propaganda. The fact is the Republicans, including the mostly conservatives, up to the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act were the party that stood up to the Democrats where the SEGREGATIONIST who were mostly POPULIST found their home. The Democrats have no basis to insult and try to pass blame over to the Republican's on civil rights and voting rights in order to hide their sordid past.

 

Actually slaves were a huge investment and were fed and taken care of as they were valuable assets and if they were unhealthy and sick and emaciated and not fed well and taken care of became costly and unproductive.

It's called historical reality, you should study it more. What exactly is unbelievable about my post? You think slave owners bought slaves so they could make them weak and unhealthy and unable to work so they could sit back and watch them die? How absurd.

 

If you had been born in the south in the early 1800's, you might have become a slave holder as well. It was the culture of that era.

So don't be so self-righteous. We are judged by how we behave in the present, now by how others behaved in the past. Take for example abortion. What do you think, that slavery is wrong, but killing children in the womb is right?

For me this is the thing. Being livestock ...no matter how poorly or supposedly well treated is the thing. People were treated as livestock with no say in any aspect of their lives. I try to treat my livestock well. If I get short of money I may sell one or two. I take children from parents. I sell non productive stock. I breed for acceptable traits.I normally don't consider what the livestock wants because I know what is good for them. I think people deserve. better. Livestock be livestock.

How many of you mistreat your dog? Or cat if you own one. How often do you starve your pets? When your dog sleeps 16 hrs per day, are you angry?

A stupid master would mistreat slaves other than in rare exceptions. Mrs. Obama mentioned slaves were used on the White House but did not claim they were mistreated.

 

A smart master would treat them like livestock and not worry about their feelings.

I served in the US Army. They too gave me 3 hots and a cot. I mean an actual cot. I did as told. I got up when told. Slept when told. Went where told. Policed areas when told.

I mean, that is about the conditions of a slave in my view.

I would say that is pretty accurate. I would say you treat your dog or cat about like they got treated.
