Here let me help you out. That is not a birth certificate. When I applied for my passport I sent them a copy of my BD and DL. I was rejected and told that I had to send the original (with a return envelope) because a copy of the raised seal was not good enough. His claim of a long term BD doesn't even have a copy of a state seal on it.

I guess you are right if you are looking for a BD prior to 1909.

When my first child was born the Selective Service required a "Certificate of Live Birth" to extend my husband's deferment in the Vietnam war.

 

Maybe Cruz's fellow republicans who are candidates will jump into action and demand his eligibility to run for President! Oh wait, they all want to keep the competition as little as possible so they'll either ignore the issue or throw ol' Teddy under the bus.

I have had a half dozen or more passports since 1950 ... and no BC was required. My siblings were born outside the US and US territories and once the birth was registered at the US consulate and their footprints were inked, they never again had to produce a BC for a passport.. Further, they are all classified as "natural born US citizens".

Obama has had a US passport since he was seven years old so the birth certificate business was handled back then....

The point is that Obama could have traveled on his mother's passport, but by the 1960s that wasn't done often.. and when he traveled along (returning from Indonesia to Hawaii) he had to have his own US passport so the issue of his birth certificate would have obviously been addressed by the time he was seven.

I am quite pleased actually as Cruz is a conservative Ivy League educated demagogue. And couldn't move far enough to the middle to win a presidential election. Since he is educated at an Ivy League liberal institution, his education didn't "take". Which would make him like Bush the Younger and mis-educated.
