In our progressive society, a black celebrity is allowed to make openly racist statements against white people and brag about a history of violence towards them. Can you imagine what would happen if Taylor Swift wrote about how she hates "fat black people", talked about how her mother considered black people to be the devil, and bragged about how she punched a 'black b---- teacher' in the eye? She would no longer have a career. The mainstream media would cover the story 24/7 until Taylor Swift lost all her endorsements and nationwide boycotts of her were in place. Azealia Banks, however, will not face any serious backlash over this. Her fans won't care, because they likely feel the same way she does. The media won't cover this. There will be no boycotts of her music, since the people who are likely to be offended by this were not buying her music in the first place.

Her comments are really not that far removed from what we see from progressives on a daily basis. It's politically correct to hate whites, as she does.

    Who??

Maybe most people don't care because the only people who care about her, are her fans (dozens of them...DOZENS).

But you are right. White people are held to a different standard. So what? That's what we get for being on top of the mountain.

She has been an object of scorn in the gay community for quite a while now. She's an idiot.

And you're right, she does not have a lot of fans.

Of course it is OK to hate white people and vocalize it without anything happening except people patting you on the back. Racism? I do not care. The main reason is because of how the lefties lie about it. I do not care that there was slavery and I do not care that there was segregation. I could care less about Rosa Parks. Thanks lefties for making me not give a crap about racism.

There should not be a white person alive that cares about it.

She's worth 3 million dollars. I highly doubt she has "dozens" of fans. You're just attempting to marginalize the fact that black celebrities like her have a big audience. If the same percentage of whites were into bands like Skrewdriver you would naturally assume that their music speaks to a significant part of the white community.

I'm not marginalizing anything. I honestly had no idea who this person was until you posted this thread. Famous people are going to say the same dumb crap that non-famous people say, but because they are famous, they get attention. The thing is, the people who agree, already agreed. Those who disagreed, already disagreed. I highly doubt someone is going to read her crap and say 'you know what....she's RIGHT!!!'.

Also had to google screwdriver. They are just as bad as she is.

She's made millions off her music. She's not "non-famous" by any stretch of the imagination. Just because white non-fans of rap don't know who she is doesn't mean that millions of other people don't know who she is. They obviously do.

But this really shows the underbelly of the black community in this country. This kind of thinking is not fringe at all. It's common, it's accepted, and very few are willing to call them out on this. If a white supremacist band was making millions of dollars, the left would pay attention and respond accordingly. That won't happen, here.

23 years old, Harlem, Jim Crow laws...What? The woman grew up in the Al Sharpton era and was taught racism by him and her parents.

I'm surprised any magazine would even print this.

*shrug* she hates american because of what she feels it did to her people. Some White people hate black people because of what they feel they are doing to their country. I don't see much of a difference.

Except your making threads about her, and not someone like, say, John Mayer. Who also made racist remarks in Playboy.

Lots of celebrities say stupid crap. Like I said, those who agree, already did, those who didn't, aren't going to change their minds.

Reading some of the comments from liberals about this racist, saying she hasn't many fans, well let's not forget the racist Al Sharpton didn't either a while back, and look at the racist hate he has managed to gin up, along with Obama and Holder who are all BFF.

These racist pieces of fecal matter make me sick, and they continue to destroy any and all cohesiveness our nation ever had. When they are given a platform of any kind it is the beginning of a cancerous social tumor

PerezHilton, HuffingtonPost, MTV, Newsweek, all on the 1st page of Google condemning Mayer for his comments, which pretty much amounted to "I am not sexually attracted to black women". He never said he hated black people. He later "broke down on stage" and apologized to his fans.

With Banks, I don't see any condemnations from major news outlets. I don't see her apologizing. In fact, she is assertively unapologetic about it.

    Not quite the same thing.

No one cares about Azealia Banks... she's been an idiot for some time now. Why you chose now to care is no mystery.

She's made millions of dollars. You don't do that with nobody caring.

No, truth is, she has lots of fans, and you don't want that fact to reflect badly on the black community.

Ok. Man, I miss a lot. I usually get my news from this board these days and there was nary a peep. Good on him, though I generally find those 'apologies' are more for getting crapped on by everyone then an actual turn of heart.

Anyway, She is an idiot, and her statements aren't really that newsworthy, as anyone who agrees, already agreed. Anyone who disagrees, aren't going to change their minds because she said something.

If my point wasn't clear, the injustices we as whites must endure are pretty small in the scheme of things.

Ok, so anyone who agrees already agrees. Well a big part of the black community thinks like she does. Is that a problem that the progressive left is going to address at some point?

What problem? They are allowed to have their opinions. IF they want to use that freedom to hate on the country that allows them to do so, that is on them. There are a multitude of of people in the 'black community' who feel differently.

I say, take each individual on their own. Stop dividing people up. And that goes for every color or nationality.

This wasn't the response to white racism, though. Whites were shamed and confronted (and still are) by society if they express racist sentiment against non-white minority members. Why is your attitude toward non-white racists essentially "well, some people think that way, but that's on them. Others don't think that way"?

I also find it interesting people jumping in with there being some sort of lacking fan base.

While completely untrue... I have no idea how that is relevant.
Diminishing the amount of those listening, so as to make the message less harmful ?!

Her long, public feud with Iggy Azalea over Iggy's whiteness ruling her out as being talented is well known.

    But this, not so much:

Later she starred in plays. At the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts — the same school that Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli attended — an agent saw her act in a play called City of Angels and took her on as a client, sending her on auditions for TBS, Nickelodeon, and Law & Order.

But the Azealia Banks we know now — the artist who is signed to a major label, Interscope, and is the new face of a major fashion line by Alexander Wang; the one who, when she's not on the road doing shows, is in Los Angeles

Yea... what a tough life she has been dealt.

edit: For the record, they both completely suck. And not because of their skin color.

They don't want to admit that her comments reflect the opinions of millions of people in the country who think like she does.

She's right. The Republican party is hate group. 90% supported Bush's terrorist attack on Iraq. White democrats tolerated the racist drug war under Clinton and support Obama's and Hillary's bloodthirsty foreign policy. The cowardly attacks on Treyvon Martin and Michael Brown by stupid white males and the ratings for Fox noise prove her right.

That's not the issue.... what the issue is, if roles are reversed and a white artist (that you may also not have heard of) says the same racial things about blacks.... the race-baiters wouldn't stop until the white artist's career was ruined.
