Over a dozen of those strains of HPV are associated with cervical cancer.

I don't know if Bachmann made something up but she certainly reflects a lot of ignorance when she opens her mouth.

She sadly is doing what BO was/is accused of doing, taking some non researched scenario to make a point.
Yet partisan worship won't acknowledge the difference.

Have vaccinations been developed for all of them? Perhaps we only have a vaccine for four of the strains but the failure to have a vaccine for a dozen doesn't mean we shouldn't vaccinate for the strains we do have a vaccine for. That would be like saying we should let a child starve because we haven't solved world hunger yet.

Good luck with convincing them on that. Most Tea Party haters seem eager to hate what they want to perceive the Tea Party to be rather than actually attempting to understand what it really is.

Liberal "tolerance" at its finest; Draw up a stereotype, paint everyone with the same broad brush, and hate away until you're blue in the face.

    I see.

So, "I want to cut government by half, and will lower taxes as a result. I also want to eradicate the blacks and hispanics via concentration camps. But, you know, in a fiscally responsible manner." That gets your vote?

One issue voters: As useless to America as one-issue candidates.

Reread my post. I said they are responsible for MOST of the disease load not all.

Please turn off the Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and READ. The strains of HPV targeted by the vaccine are responsible for the majority of the clinical disease load. Do you propose we discard every medical treatment that is 80-90+% effective? Please name for me the medical treatment that works 100% of the time in 100% of all patients?

So in light of these FACTS do you still think this vaccination program is a a bad idea or good public health policy?

Not exactly. It was an order signed Governor Perry in 2007 that, apparently, included an "opt out" for parents who wished to refuse the vaccine for their daughters. This Washington Post story reports the following:

Actually I think it's a hundred grand if you can prove someone used the N word to a congressman during the run up to the House vote on Obamacare.

There is all kinds of prize money floating around.

The Texas State Legislature over-ruled this executive order and it was never implemented. The statement is a fact as no girls were vaccinated based upon the executive order. Not a single involuntary vaccination was made.

I would oppose the executive order but that is irrelevant. The issue is that Bachmann is an idiot because she used a "scare tactic" that was scientifically false and it frightened a lot of other right-wing idiots who might now choose to not vaccinate their girls when they should. While we will never know for certain there is more than an minor possibility that at least one young girl will die because they aren't vaccinated because of Michelle Bachmann's stupidity and the related stupidity of some right-winger that actually listened to her. Of course most of these nut-cases are members of the "religious right" like Michelle Bachmann and they will simply say, "It's God's will" that their daughter died. They'll blame their stupidity and irresponsibility on God because it's their way out of personal responsibility to be intelligently informed.
