Can anyone give 1 legit reason why recreational use of drugs should not be legalized?

Nope there is no legitimate reason and, IMO, their illegality has caused more death and destruction than can ever be calculated. Whenever I hear that drugs cause crime I cringe and the insanity of that statement. I am basically conservative but I am vehemently opposed to this so-called 'war on drugs.'

 

What are you even talking about? How does someone growing a pot plant, or a coca plant, or a poppy create a victim? Please enlighten me...

I cannot think off the top of my head of any school shooter who was high at the time. But I can guarantee they all had mental problems and were psychotic at the time.

What I want to know is why people using drugs offends you so much morally that even if it doesn't affect you, you simply don't want to allow them to do it at all?

 

I support the status quou or all drugs being completely free to all but minors. In the alternate every street corner in America should have piles of heroine, crack, coke, meth, hash, or cannabis free for the taking by anybody to the point of overdosing. Let God (status quou) or Darwin (free drugs) sort them out.

If drugs are completely legal I want employers to be absolutely able to test their employees for liability purposes and be able to fire without recourse drug users. I don't want my pilot or UAW worker providing me services/products doped up.

As for the pharmaceutical drugs and school shooter connection, it seems to be only the ones who have a history of these drugs that commit these school massacres, never some kid who may have gone undiagnosed (they are still pushing for more mental health screening, btw, because supposedly there are too many kids still undiagnosed)

Make it legal and more people will use it. It will only get people to try something more potent to get even a bigger high. Haven't enough people died from the use of drugs? Why do you need drugs to have a good time?

"Worse" is relative. Both tobacco and alcohol can kill you, and do so in the hundreds of thousands, annually.

how many years has this drug war been going on, anyone that wants to use it, has no problem finding it (same as happened with prohibition of alcohol)

the abuse exists legal or not, just one makes those that do not abuse criminals

 

In my case, it may be due to the anti-hypocrisy effects of the marijuana I smoke. It is an anecdotal and constant reminder, that only "original sinners" are claiming marijuana is bad and not good, as claimed by a god.

You see, most people who advocate for drugs to be illegal don't mean ALL drugs. They just mean the ones that they don't personally consume. The drugs that they use are somehow special cases as are they.

 

As usual attempting to hide behind a social habit to further your self cantered wants, no I don't want drugs to be legalised. I want all drug addicts to be given free drugs.

Remove those whose living off the backs of humanity like a cancer.
