A common refrain from those who are in the fringes and have their asses handed to them on a regular basis. God Bless, Father Max
When you can use the scientific method on your theory, please let me know. Until then, it is only a belief. FWIW, I think there’s a reason why knowledge of the hereafter is a matter of faith not science. A more plausible theory is along the lines of a SF story I read many years ago; explorers were looking form something and stopped on a steril planet. They explored it a bit then dumped their organic waste on it and left. One was thinking what that planet would look like in a few billion years. Happy Trails, Father Max
Wrong again, my son. Yes, I’m an ordained minister, my name isn’t “Paatrick” and you are wrong to force your religious beliefs onto others. You, sir, are no man of God. dirge nos Domine, Father Max
Why do you care so much, my son? Shouldn’t you be working on your own redemption instead of persecuting others? As for your a false accusations, didn’t your mother, much less your supposed seminary, teach you that bearing false witness is a mortal sin? Pax Domini sit semper vobiscu, Father Max
They have coexisted for thousands of years. Yes, it's not perfect, but so what. I'm a Christian, and I don't complain about religious discrimination, unless instituted by government.
Question for the group: Is it Christian to infer that all Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus are liars? Pax Dei, Father Max
Well that depends... When they "preach" there are many paths to "Heaven", you will reincarnate until you get it right, or you must practice every Jewish / Muslim ritual...according to Christian scripture yes they are liars. ... as long as no one is forcing a belief system or a way of living on anyone or ignorantly hating people...I dont see a problem
That would be true only if you can prove it's true. What do you call a person who calls others liars, but can't prove others are liars? In saecula saeculorum, Father Max
Who is "we've"? Sorry, dude, but I doubt you have your own number much less anyone elses. In short, your post is a brutum fulmen. Astra inclinant, sed non obligant, Father Max
That would be me, yguy, and one of the atheists who saw right through you in this very thread. Cheers, Reverend Father IJM
I'm sure they all appreciate your leadership and that you are speaking for them. Frankly, I think your group includes a very angry person, one who has some mental issues and the third I don't know who it is. Meanwhile, back on topic. You and a few others have proved that religious fervor (yes, I'm including some atheists here) are very divisive and often spread anger, even hatred, thus preventing peaceful coexistence. Pacem in terris, Father Max
I don't think you even know what I said. You just went off on one of your egomaniacal rants. That says volumes.
Let's recap what we have so far: we had a sort of a conversation going on until Max came along, impersonating clergy and trolling both sides of the question. Now that he's completely derailed the thread he's blaming it on someone else.
i'm not the one throwing out the idea of the universe being a computer simulation. i'm only noting that with ideas like that ID is not limited to deities per se, and it's not just religious folks who are throwing out ID.
Dude, a difference that makes no difference is no difference. If you want to believe that an intelligent force of immeasurable power created the Universe but it's not a "deity", fine, but a rose by any other name is still a rose. Now, if you want to say the deity described in Genesis is not a true description, then I'd agree with you.
We're all sons of God, my son. You should know this if you were a priest instead of playing one on SNL. Astra inclinant, sed non obligant, Father Max
God loves everyone, my child. If you truly loved God, you would understand this. All you have to do to enjoy God’s grace is to let go of your anger and embrace it. Peace be unto you, Father Max
Your have that bizarre and incorrect belief because you've spent decades looking only at cult sources. In the real world, climate science has been excellent with its predictions, and anyone familiar with the actual science knows that. You sound like a flat-earther listing reasons why the round-earth theory has failed and must clearly be a conspiracy. Other cultists will praise you for it, but it's not going to work on people outside of the cult. You're still wrong, because the facts and data say you're wrong. None of your tirades will change that. Despite what your PC philosophy might state, all beliefs are not equally valid. Yours are inferior because they are contradicted by the evidence.
