The Cry Baby Loser, following his defeat in 2020, refusing to acknowledge the will of the People after all 50 states certified their election results, and dozens of court appeals, audits, investigations and recounts had confirmed and validated that result, incited his goons to attack outnumbered police defending democracy. It failed. His fake elector scam and attempts to intimidate governors and secretaries of state failed as well. Given the low regard for sore losers, one might have hoped that it would be a one-off for the U.S, that had previously compiled an admirable record of peaceful transfers of power (1789-2021.) Loser Bolsonaro attempted the same stunt in Argentina, but the People prevailed there as well. BIG HAND, WEE HAND - A LOSER IS A LOSER. Just when American though our system of self-governance was safe, again, and that the rule of law would prevail: Kari Lake's threat of violence is ... right on brand The reigning MAGA queen of the GOP has an ominous warning for any who would dare to try to hold Donald Trump accountable for criminal activity. “I have a message tonight for [Atorney General] Merrick Garland, and [Special Counsel] Jack Smith, and [President] Joe Biden,” Lake said during a speech on Friday evening to Georgia Republicans. “And the guys back there in the fake news media, you should listen up as well, this one’s for you. “If you want to get to... Trump, you’re going to have to go through me, and you’re going to have to go through 75 million Americans just like me. “And I’m going to tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA. That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.”... “I meant what I said,” she later tweeted... Me? I believe her. Fanatics threatening violence is something that cannot be ignored. Republican California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger compared the January 6 riot to the infamous Nazi “Kristallnacht” attack on Jews in Germany.
I think your OP is misdirected. If all people recognized Trump & Kari Lake as simply "sore losers," there would be no threat to democracy. It is worth correcting you that Bolsonaro, while he'd made numerous sore loser comments, apparently had not wanted his supporters to engage in any anti-government violence. Notwithstanding that there were some who had encouraged this (as Steve Bannon), it was ultimately the Bolsonaro supporters, who'd chosen to not accept their election results. Likewise, in this country, it is Trump's supporters-- excluding any who are members of this forum, of course-- who are the real sore losers, and the greatest source of threat to our system, because without them, most politicians would not have the confidence to try to overturn our mode of governance.
Can sore winners ruin democracy? Do you think winning elections give you the right to destroy those you defeated?
You have that right, led by Adam Schiff who should expelled from Congress. It looks like he will get to take his lies and hate to the Senate.
More like a toadstool. If you didn’t know that he is a bare faced lier, you would swear that he eats loco weed mushrooms.
Their followers refusing to accept Trump's and Lake's defeats is of no legal merit. The certification of the election results in both cases is the determinant. Trump and Lake cannot be absolved of the lies they tell to their devotees who swallow them. I said nothing of Bolsonaro's fomenting January 6-style violence in Brazil as part of his election denial. Bolsonaro eventually admitted defeat. Trump remains incapable of doing so, and that poses a threat to the nation by his worshipers. Fanatical followers of both Trump and Bolsonaro take their marching orders from their leader's lies. They do not impose the lies upon their leaders.
No. Fortunately, that is not happening in the United States, although a Loser has vowed revenge if re-elected.
Clinton graciously acknowledged her electoral college defeat the morning following the election, and wished Trump well. Trump could not defer to the will of the People, and his divisiveness persists.
If you are accusing Speaker McCarthy, George Santos, and others in his majority of dereliction of duty, so be it. In the meantime, Loser Lake's pissy threats of violence should be condemned by patriotic Americans, regardless pf party label: “And I’m going to tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA. That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.”
Trump and Lake, refusing to accept their defeats is of no legal merit, either-- so what's your point? "The certification of the election results... is the (sole) determinant." Who the hell was absolving them of anything? Here is where your logic is screwy. Without followers, it wouldn't matter what lies Trump or any other leader told. Radical "followers" however, can always find someone to lead them, to tell them what they want to hear; it's why, when FOX News initially called the election for Biden, many FOX viewers started heading to Newsmax: because they preferred that message.
Do you believe that Loser Trump's and Loser Lake's fanatical followers would still perpetrate and threaten violence if Trump and Lake did not lie to them about their election losses?
Do you believe those lies would pose any problem, without followers willing to both believe, and to act on them? As I had implied, Trump did not so much as convert all his fans, as they found him, when he started saying the things that resonated with them. As you have presumably noticed, now that this formula is known to other politicians, there is no shortage of others, willing to employ the same recipe. So let's say you could wave a magic wand and make Trump & Lake disappear-- do you really think that would be an end to the trouble? You don't think we would see DeSantis, and Cruz, and Hawley, and Pompeo, and MTG, etc, etc, etc, all ready to step up to fill in those gaps? The lying leader is replaceable, and easy to find. It is the constituency for that rhetoric, wherein all the danger lies. Without it, the liars are powerless. But the violence prone, fringe style followers, deprived of one leader, are simply a bomb, in search of a new fuse.
Exonerating leaders and blaming those that fall for their lies is certainly a novel defense. I have no doubt that Trump respecting the democratic process and conceding his loss would not have resulted in his goons attacking outnumbered police defending the Capitol. A great deal of it, yes. I don'r believe that election deniers are original thinkers, and that most accept whatever their leader tells them. DeSantis, Cruz, Hawley, and Pompeo are not encouraging their followers to oppose the democratic process, as far as I know. Most of the losers Trump endorsed in 2022 did not resort to parroting Loser Trump's lie that attacks democracy. Contrast loser Hershel Walker's words to his disappointed supporters, not allowing his loss to diminish his respect for democracy with Trump's incessant crapping on the will of the People because they decisively rejected him, or Lake's threats to law-abiding public officials: "There are no excuses in life and I am not going to make any excuses now because we put up one heck of a fight... I thank you so much. As I said, you can't blame no one because I want you to continue to believe in this country, believe in our elected officials."
her minions did everything they could to undermine, hamper, impede, obstruct etc the Trump administration. The Russian bullshit stands out for example
Do you refer to your Goddess Hillary as the loser? first she lost the nomination to a nobody (Obama) and then a few years later, she loses to Trump. She appears to be the UBER LOSER
The only elections she has ever won was for Senator from New York. That state is so blue that a "ham sandwich" would be elected senator.
gradually trump will fade away, even tho there will always be persistent adherents, just as the KKK still remains out in the backwoods
Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election to help Trump and hurt Clinton. That was exposed by the FBI, NSA, CIA, and confirmed by two Republican-led Senate investigative committees. Trump chooses to believe Putin over the U.S. findings. Republican Mueller was appointed by Republican Rosenstein of the Republican Trump Department of Justice to determine if the Trump campaign had actively coordinated with Putin's agents. Even Republican Trump adviser Bannon criticized what he recognized as improper: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers. Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad sh¡t, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”
Clinton was the loser in the 2016 presidential election. It was and remains an embarrassment. She may be your "goddess" but she's not mine.
what's the embarrassment-that she lost or that her desires to be the wicked witch of the west wing was even given credence by some?
The best comment I have ever heard about her is that she "is like a grandma" when when you meet her in person. The person who told me that was a failed Democratic Party candidate for the House in one of the southern states. I guess if my grandma had been a gila monster I would believe him.
