It would appear that many people don't get it. The Catholic Church considers birth control a mortal sin. If you die with an unrepented mortal sin on your soul you go to hell. So Obama is quite literally telling the Catholic Church to go to hell. If you don't understand this, then you have no business living in America. Go to Europe. Better yet, go to hell.
How stupid.. the issue isn't birth controll.. its employee benefits. You know I don't care if Catholics don't use birth control... that is absolutely their business.. although so many of my dear Catholic friends broke up after five babies in 7 years and the failing health of the wife complicated by poverty.. But, for you to couch this tax and Federal Funding issue as forcing Catholics to use birth control is absurd.
You don't deserve to live in America. You have no understanding of the First Amendment and no respect for it. Go to Europe where you belong. In Europe they do not have a First Amendment and the government can trample all over religion and get away with it.
The church just needs to repent after giving out birth control; problem solved. Just install confessionals in the pharmacy. It may sound crazy, but so is the concept of burning for eternity for giving someone a condom, and the fact that you can sin and so long as you say 'hey God, I sinned, forgive me' you can do whatever you want and avoid hell.

Actually I am a Christian.. I just find it weird that Catholicism in its purest and best form cares so little for the health and welfare of women and children. Onan's sin was not spilling his seed on the ground.. it was disobedience for not impregnating his brother's widow. Rooked is right.

And for your information, my religion believes that not using contraceptives is a sin. Anyone who commits this sin goes to tofu land where you are forced to eat only tofu in your afterlife. Because of this, I demand a mandate that every woman must take a birth control pill everyday. Oh, you don't like that? Then you must be waging war against Tofuism. You will burn in tofu land!!!
The catholic church is a 13th century institution with 13th century ideas. Fortunately, most civilised countries don't take it seriously enough to legislate to promote those ideas. The days of the Medici are thankfully long gone.
You know even Muslims believe in birth control.. While having children is encouraged.. they also believe in spacing children for the health of the mother and the child. It seems to me that in the strictest sense of Catholicism.. there is no care for the health of mother or the child or the ability to feed and care for either.. its all about the soul.
Is this the same Catholic Church whose priests continuously (*)(*)(*)(*)ed little boys over the period of a few decades and covered it up? I think I'll take my morality lessons from somewhere slightly less (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up than the Catholic Church.
Actually I'm a freedom loving American who does not believe in mixing religion with politics. I'd say you should move to Iran where they value religion over freedom.
