Catholics No Longer Have a Duty to Obey this Government

Jesus said, "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's."

The Christian has a duty to obey the laws of a legitimate government.

But this government is no longer legitimate. It is mandating that Catholics disobey their conscience, which is something we cannot do.

We have a moral duty to resist this unjust law and we will.

We will not comply with the mandate to buy birth control.

If you fine us for non-compliance we will not pay the fine.

If you put our leaders in prison we will still not comply.

You will have to fill the prisons with Catholics.

And yet, we will not comply.

 

What are you talking about, there is no mandate that makes you buy birth control.

As a catholic I am not going let a former hitler youth and his minions in the upper management of my faith ruin the flocks 98% usage of the birth control. And I am certainly not going to let the righties on this site speak for the people of my faith.

Even though I disagree with my churches position on this one I do admire the consistency of their life is sacred position, they are anti abortion, anti war, anti death penalty, most evangelical righties are only against one of those things that defile life.

 

The Obama administration is corrupt, Blackrook. The Constitution is not respected, but seen as an impediment.

This (and multiple threads by the same poster on the same subject) demonstrates the mentality of religious nutters that the government should enforce the bizarre beliefs held by their various religions.

Religion is a private matter. Keep it that way. It has no business inflicting silly beliefs on the rest of society. Especially when they want the government to do it for them.

 

No. Catholics have 2000 years of resisting and overthrowing tyrants. We will still be here long after Obama is forgotten.

 

America's Founding Fathers surely knew the BEST reasons to keep the power/favor of government SEPARATE from "religion". The more effective we are in managing to maintain such "separation"... the more secure ALL of our individual rights will be/remain.
