CDC says fully vaccinated people don’t need to wear face masks indoors or outdoors in most settings

Do you hang out with a lot of people who would lie? I think businesses are still free to say you need a mask.

 

So basically its the same. Unvaccinated can be indoors and outdoors and not wear masks except for where business that require them.

 

Same for me too... inside some businesses is the only place I've been forced to wear a mask.

My perspective is from one with a healthy immune system.

I cannot see the logic in taking a dangerous experimental injection meant to protect against a virus with a 99% survival rate.

It’s ok buddy. Nobody is taking your mask away. You can wear it anywhere you like. Get vaccinated and wear an N95 or better quality mask and you will be “relatively” safe from the ‘rona.

It directly hurts people who can't get vaccinated. It indirectly hurts people who did get vaccinated by increasing the likelihood of spread and vectors for new variants that may be vaccine resistant.

I agree.

My wife is one of those people who can't get vaccinated due to a temporary medical condition. She is concerned that people will stop wearing masks regardless of vaccination status, increasing her risk of contracting COVID. I'm fully vaccinated, but I'm concerned about being exposed by an unvaccinated person not wearing a mask and bringing it home to my wife. Luckily our governor has stated the state-wide mask mandate remains in effect for now.

I don't see how we can ease up on masks until we get much closer to herd immunity so that the unvaccinated are protected. Optimistically you can assume unvaccinated potentially infectious people will continue to wear masks, but I've learned throughout this ordeal that I can't trust people to do the right thing for the protection of those around them. There is a lot of selfish behavior in our country right now.
