Political parties are the problem. Well, to be honest, not the ONLY problem, but a big one. Not one party or the other, across history ALL political parties have acted in one way or another to corrupt politics. What can we do to reduce that impact: Remove all government support of political parties. I mean everything: If a party wants to have a primary, the party pays 100% of the costs. The party may use government resources but it pays full retail price for those resources. That $3 thing on your tax return? Gone Candidate names on general election ballots have no party designation and are ordered completely randomly. Poll watchers are selected randomly, not by party. Government entities chosen by political party would end and members would be selected from pools of qualified candidates w/o regard to party. I think these ideas might help.
That sounds like a great idea but I doubt it will happen. People love to have a reason to hate each other so they'll find a way to cause derision no matter what is done.
Hate is typically manufactured. For example, stop billionaires owning the media and you find hate subsides. Weird like!
It will be manufactured no matter what changes are made. I know many people that hate X and they can't even articulate why other than to say "Because I just do.". Pathetic.
This is a "woe is us" prance, nothing more. You honestly think the hate caused by capitalist control of the media is the same as your mate Bob?
I disagree. I think the government should pay for ALL political expenditure for all parties. Making political contributions completely illegal. And that the amount that each party receives should be determined by the number of votes they received for the House. So if a third Party has a good showing in a Congressional run in their district, even if they don't win, they will receive proportional funding for the following elections. This would be a way of promoting smaller new political parties that are starting from the ground up. It would also take the influence of the donor class our from the political system. And this is the reason why Republicans will never allow it. And the Corporate Media would also have a collective heart attack.
Corruption needs to be removed, like what occurred this week with Kodak and their government sponsored entry into drug ingredient production. Trump made the public announcement on Wednesday, but some had already got ADVANCE knowledge as the stock of Kodak took large jumps on Monday and Tuesday. The FIX was in and some made a killing. That Trump swamp is overflowing.
I'm hoping that, going forward, nominees and parties will realize that all the hooplah and money spending leading up to an election is not necessary. That's certainly the lesson that can be taken from this year. I've long said that the length of campaigns and the money spent is disgusting and completely unnecessary
Please don't cliche reply to me. I don't enjoy it. If you can't respond to what I said then sneak away
