Use the same standards you use in other homicide cases to determine if she had intent, and proceed as you would with any other homicide case.
It doesn't take a huge brain to understand the fact that this poor, desperate woman is in desperate need of psychiatric care. Anybody who thinks otherwise needs psychiatric care even more urgently than this poor woman does.
I had no illusions that a certain subset of people would be more focused on "punishing" the woman than on actually treating the issue
If she was depressed enough to try and commit suicide, then she needs help, not prison. I am sure the lifers here would have preferred that she be tied to the bed and made to give birth, but that didn't happen. Let her go - if she is to be punished at all she should be made to serve whatever sentence handed down to her in hospital.

Well as I see it, you are a hypocrite. You started this thread with the expectation that your opposition would react a certain way, that hasn't actually happened, so you can continue to demonize them as people instead of merely posting support for your side or the argument.
