I myself would have been so pissed had that been the LOS ANGELES RAMS back then they beat.

Why in the hell could no one stop the Rams offense from 1999 up to the superbowl in 2000? The Rams torched the Patriots that same year during the regular season. So what happened? the Patriots got that good in a couple of months? Nah. They cheated. They knew they could not stop the Rams passing game, so they held on every play. They knew the Rams plays. How? Lucky? They were that great on that day? Nah. They cheated. Everyone and their mother knew they cheated except the Patriots fans. But it's over. No one should be shocked by this, the NFL no matter what the topic can't get out of its own way. For years both Faulk and Warner have said all along that the smelled a rat regarding that game. Those are two of the smartest, most well respected players ever - especially here locally

I have a lot of trust in Marshall Faulk regarding what takes place on a football field. He has said on a couple ocassions the Rams would line up - Pats players would move around, Rams would audible, Pats players would call out plays and then move into another defense. Besides the holding of receivers and Faulk on every play - knowing it would not be called - they knew the plays, the count, the lingo. The Rams caught on at one point and purposely called out a audible play change - but did not change - and the Pats changed defensive formation without the Rams moving. They knew something alright.

There's no question they cheat on a regular basis. If the NFL had any guts...and opponents playbooks WERE really found....Belechik (and Mr Kraft) should be banned permanently. After the Super Bowl, not knowing about cheating, the Rams players said it was like the Pats knew what play was being called, and a Pats staffer said he personally filmed the walkthrough, but no investigation was done. It's sickening.and the BEST one of them all.he really hit the nail on the head.

That Super Bowl was rigged and we all know it. After 9/11, of course they're gonna let the "Patriots" win. Red, white, and blue confetti after the win, Spygate, cover-ups. It's all a joke. We're living in the Matrix.

Auburn was stealing plays from FSU signal callers in the national championship game in Jan 14, and FSU couldn't move the ball. AU had an offensive coach that had previously worked for head coach Jimbo Fisher and knew how to translate it. FSU picked up on it and adjusted, and the 2nd half was all FSU.


A big deal hasn't been made about it because FSU won.

Had AU won that game, maybe we'd have had "signal-gate" controversy....

Had Marschawn lynch ran the ball and scored that last TD..... deflategate would have been dropped by the likes of all the Patriots haters....

they rigged the game against the raiders with the BS tuck rule invented on the spot so the cheats could go to the superbowl that year,the refs were in Krafts pockets obviously as any thinking person knows.the tuck rule was the worst call ever in Playoff history.

they NEVER would have made that call if the game had been in oakland,they did not make the correct call that it was a fumble because they were a bunch of chicken$hit cowards afraid of getting out alive had they made the correct call that day.

The Patriots are consistently polled as the most hated NFL team...outside of New England of course that for lack of a better word "adores" them with zealotry the Manson family might appreciate.

In part, it is of course the fact they are perennially a competitive team and relevant...year in and year out. They're good, in other words...very good.

No one can dispute that, their records.

There have been lots of good teams over the years, the San Francisco 49ers with Joe Montana, the Pittsburgh Steelers with Mean Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw., the Dallas Cowboys with Roger Staubach. These teams built dynasties lasting many seasons...but they weren't hated to the extent the New England Patriots are. Clearly the strong dislike goes beyond simply winning. So what is it that makes them so disliked?

A head coach with a personality equivalent to moldy cheese, and a QB having bastard children with super models, with an equivalent personality of moldy cheese.

Love 'em or hate 'em.

Joe Namath had personality.
John Madden had personality.
Joe Montana had personality...

even Terry Bradshaw, had personality. He wrote about his life and suffering from severe depression after a failed marriage, he made himself vulnerable to the fans...that's what people like.

The stoic character of Belichick and spoiled brat image of Tom Brady may not reflect who they are, but this is their persona...and it makes it difficult to like the team outside of living in New England and being obligated to root for a team more out of proximity than nothing else.

Brady is getting older...Belichick is making bone headed coaching decisions like choosing to kick after winning an OT coin toss...or going for it on 4th and 1 against the #1 ranked defense int he NFL. So as the Patriots begin to show some decline, to show some vulnerability...they might transcend their current title as the most hated NFL team in America. While indeed everybody loves a winner, sometimes losing and getting some sorely needed humility may win over the rest of the country, outside of New England, that for the most part.dislikes the New England Patriots,team...
not the fan base..but the team.

 

MY reason why i despise them is not the reason the pats fans claim because they win all the time.if that was the case i would have no respect for the dallas cowturds from the early 90's.i hate the cowboys with a passion and rooted against them to lose the superbowls but the difference in them and the cheats and why i respect them is because they were not cheaters and liars,they did not taint the game to win.
