Agreed-like most things made in China. Its not hard to see that the US is THE innovator in military technology. A hundred years after the US launches their first carrier ,China finally joins the party. Yea!!! US will always have an answer no matter how much cutting is done to the budget in down times.
True but the military industry has BIG influence, INTELLIGENT practioners and the DEFENSE of the country is one of the few things mandated to be taken care if by the fed govt.
I think her point is that Free nations are more innovative and advance faster. The empirical evidence certainly supports that conclusion. China is far behind the US in technology. Even commercial technology.
nah, china invent alot things through out the history. even USSR invent alot military/space technology. china lag in the technology field because the gap between china and west is 60+yrs when they first start to catching up. we have the technology edge because western civilization has the technology edge since 19th century. US has superior technology because we attract the brightest from all over the world, we have top notch graduate school, and company/government spend tremendous amount in R&D. however we have to continue support higher education, R&D, and attract talent from the world, otherwise we will lose our lead. china will use whatever the method to close this gap.
I'm not worried about China. I'm worried about American leftists. Obama is like Pu Yi, and America is like late Qing Dynasty China.
Free nations did not exist in that "history". Before the modern era China was competing with other non-free nations. Which Non-free nations have advanced faster than free nations so far? And had to bankrupt themselves to do it, and even then it was largely inferior to western technology. The exceptions were few and far between. Any examples other than the Soviets? And um...why are they "catching up"? Didnt you just say how they have invented all these great things throughout history? They have existed thousands of years longer than us. Why arent they ahead? EXACTLY Free nations do that. Oppressive nations do not. Because no one wants to live in an oppressive nation if they have a choice. The people with in-demand talents are not going to flock to places where they will be oppressed. The system feeds itself. But it all begins with freedom. I agree. But so far their strategy has been to steal or copy or buy from the leaders. You will never be cutting edge in anything by stealing or copying or buying from the competition. You will always be playing catch up.
The best way to describe China's naval intentions is "the million man swim". China has been doing a good job of spackling over the massive cracks in its system. This is the same country which: -handled a bullet train crash by literally burying the train and ignoring it happened. -Has built the most and the largest ghost malls/communities on the planet (despite being the most populous nation on earth) -Displaced more than 2 million people to erect a temporary Olympic village several years ago and has let the land go unoccupied ever since -Still finds a way to become the target of blame during major earthquakes due to shoddy construction. -Has the its population in the interior living at a Mao era economy. -Has never won a military conflict since the advent of gunpowder. [Korea doesn't count, it was a draw. They lost a lot more than we did] -Has such massive growth %'s because they literally started at nothing for 50 years.
Too late. China didn't need to use their military to own us. They used their citizens to build everything for cheap and then Americans just like you and I bought the products, thus helping to strengthen their economy and position in the world. Have you learned yet that you can't run around the globe telling other nations what they can and can't do? Why is it ok for the USA to have aircraft carriers, but it's not ok for other countries to have them?
Hey, you better watch your mouth or Russia might get pissed off and will not deliver american hardware into Earth orbit. In case you live under the rock - americans can't fly into space themselves.
We've already done it. More than once. Japan, Germany, Iraq, and South Korea. Non-democracies have no right to exist. Because oppressive nations have no right to defend themselves.
Well don't forget that the federal government (and bankers) likes to steal other people's work. *cough* Tesla.
Yeah, you've done it a lot and now look where we are. Hahaha. Says who? You. You are nothing more than a pawn that was used to further an agenda. Neeext.
Because we are the only country in the world which gets involved in foreign conflicts for reasons other than to enrich national coffers or just to play nice with the UN.
Well, the reason Chinese go to America is for our education. Go to any college campus, especially the science and engineering schools -- more than half of the students will be forgein born, and many of them return to their home nations after graduating. The worst I think I saw was at my brothers graduation when an Iranian national who had worked on American submarines said he was going back to Iran to build radar systems. We are indeed brilliant.
Yeah at the top. Good point. One of the biggest problems we have is that so many people want to get IN to our country. Not leave. The US is a highly desired destination. Not just me.
yep. If they are ever going to catch up, they'll need to increase their industrial espionage efforts.
only when US continue be at the top. but with future economy/debt issues, less people will want to come to US.
China is Number 2 in GDP...what is their immigration rate? (hint: It is not a positive number) So much for success equaling desirability.
