Who could have predicted that in just 10 short years, the Republican party and it's voters would make the era of people like George W. Bush and Chris Christie being in power seem like the good old days instead of the **** show they put on for us now with people like Trump and the Fake Patriot Caucus. We never knew just how not bad we had it then.

And on the flip side of that, I'll take 2000s era Democrats over the woke morons their party is filled with today.

Christie stands zero chance of winning the GOP nomination. He’s a has been in Republican Party politics.

Depending on who else is on the ticket, I may vote for him in the GOP primaries. He's a saner option than Trump or DeSantis at least. I'm trying to be optimistic here, but I don't think the GOP will ultimately choose a sane candidate.

Yes, Christie burned a lot of bridges during his last months as New Jersey governor. He probably figures that people will have short memories.

Trump burned a lot more bridges in Atlantic City and in New York and he still managed to win.

Not in New York or New Jersey he didn't. Trump was an outsider without the baggage of previous political screwups like Christie had.

Lol, yes, yes he absolutely did. He had a long history of scandals in both states, especially the way he royally ****ed over Atlantic City when he preformed the miracle of creating a casino that couldn't turn a profit and stuck his business partners with the bill.

The chart of Trump losing shows the he didn't burn any bridges in New York?

Let me remind you of what you said (you have a habit of forgetting)

". . . and he still managed to win."

What did he win relative to New York and New Jersey?

He won the election. He still didn't win New York, which is where I said he burned bridges. I take it you didn't see the "warm welcome" he got when he was arrested and processed there.

You should focus on being more precise in making statements. The way you worded it suggested that even though he burned bridges in New York and New Jersey he still managed to win those two states.

I'm not interested in his political arrest. I understand how it might have sent a fuzzy feeling up your legs. :)

Then you need to focus on reading comprehension.

If that's the narrative you need to obey in order to ignore the facts, go for it. [Insert emoji].

Nothing wrong with my reading comprehension. I read your statement just fine, pointing out what was wrong with it.
You have no facts on your side. I can only ignore what there is and you continue to ignore bringing them to the table.

Disagreed with this. MAGA is representing the overlooked/ignored working class meanwhile George Bush and Chris Christie represent the elitist cocktail-club snob republican who thinks he's better than everyone else because he has a wad of money.

Agreed with this (I'd say go even earlier than 2000s era).

... and he's STILL an outsider... to the elitist snobby Uniparty club.

He's the only one who has my vote in 2024.

With partisan gerrymandering, the extremes on each side is getting louder and more voices.

It used to be bipartisanship was the norm, and those on the fringe in each party just sat in their corner.
Now the fringe is the voice.

There should never be complete acceptance by everyone in a party to vote the same way.
But, the 2 party system has it and it works well for those in a party to stay in office.

Congress is less than 20% in approval. But 95% of incumbents win.
It seems like they have it all figured out.

I don't think so either, I think they need to lose at least 1 more time nationally. That may be optimistic, before the party realizes the MAGA crowd may be loud but out of touch with reality.

Now he has the baggage. MAGA like his baggage. Rest of America does not.

What is "reality"? Is voting for the candidate you believe represents your ideology being out of touch with reality? Being out of touch with reality is voting for someone whose only claim is he's not the other guy.

His supporters still prefer his policy positions over that of others. If that's baggage, it's a light load to carry.

If only one of those policies weren't overthrowing democracy. I wish they didn't think that was a light load to carry.

I'm not interested in addressing your hyperbole. You can't spell out PRECISELY how Trump was trying to overthrow democracy and yet you think this slime will stick to the wall you keep throwing it at.

I've done so repeatedly. The first plan was to have Pence count the fake electoral votes instead of the real ones. The next was to have Pence claim that, due to the fake votes, several states just shouldn't count and that Trump was the winner do to winning the majority of the remaining votes. The next was to have Pence declare that, due to the fake votes, the EC should be thrown out and we should go straight to a House vote instead. I know you are unwilling to address these facts.
