Oddly enough, your summary doesn't mention involuntary servitude at all.

And the article definitely does not say that "if you choose to bake cakes, you can't refuse a cake to a gay couple."

In fact neither you nor anyone else has presented the actual argument given in the article. The article actually agrees that it is involuntary servitude but claims an exception to the 13th Amendment.

 

Supreme Court says being required to serve all customers regardless of race, sex, nationality, religion, is not "involuntary servititude".

Allowing business owners to discriminate against homosexuals based on their religious beliefs opens the door for anyone to discriminate against anyone as long as they claim they are doing so in accordance with their religious beliefs.

Your religious freedom must end where my personal rights begin. It must be upheld in the law that your need to practice your religion cannot possibly interfere in any aspect of my life.

Religious freedom should be the weakest ok the freedoms, subservient to all other personal freedoms.

In this case, this couple was of very little means. I have not a doubt they were planning on picking it up, and having a simple house or backyard reception.

But there was so much rampant discrimination tearing the country apart in the 50s, 60s etc.
The gov't needed to try and mend the country or watch it tear apart.
Now most everyone agrees the white discrimination of blacks back then was wrong. That would've never happened if not for these laws and protected class.
Someday, your group will die off and this gay discrimination BS will be seen just as wrong as the black discrimination.
