http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/285968/rip-christopher-hitchens-daniel-foster Christopher Hitchens was the master of the poison pen, and he often used the occasion of a famous Christian's death to get in one last cheap shot. I will be better than Hitchens and not do that.
Oh wow! I didn't realize the cancer was that serious. I thought he would at least be around for at least a couple more years. May God bless his soul.
(*)(*)(*)(*)! The world has lost another great writer and contributor to public debate. I'll read Hitch-22 again this weekend.
Let's see. Hitchens showed in detail why Mother Teresa was not the 'saint' people generally made her out to be while this poster said they were going to be better than him by not saying bad things about him since he just died right after saying bad things about him right after he died. That's not the same realm, never mind the par.
Love him or hate him he was a topic of many debates in this forum and now he could definitively settle many of those same debates. People should b careful not to confuse his public persona with his actual person- as they are likely two different beings. I doubt any of us here knew them both. RIP
ROFL. So, someone says, "I am not going to do that to Hitchens," and you guys quake in anger? Hitchens little diatribe was an exercise in character assassination. I have routinely used it to demonstrate the angry rants devoid of comapssion and reason, and, every time I have shown it on this forum, atheists shy away from it when they ACTUALLY read what Hitchens had to say ... when they look at the speculative accussations devoid of proof. But of course, the EXACT same atheists, once again, show us their appreciation for standards by denouncing anyone who so much as sniffs at Hitchens after his death - why, the mand just died and that would be rude. Not rude to do it to Mother Friggin Theresa though. So, now that we have established that atheists think taking pot shots at recently dead people, no matter how ludicrious, is appropriate, well, I gess we let the pot shots fly now? Just remember, there are going to be some less than flattering eulogies that come out about Hitchens. You remember what you wrote above in the exact same context for someone else, someone who spend a LIFETIME SERVING OTHERS. It all good bro - that's your standard. I disgree.
Mother T was a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing cow who INCREASED the suffering of those under her care because it was her belief that observing suffering made the observer more holy. What a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing disgusting excuse for a human being.
I knew he was not gonna make it much longer. Very ill. He was one of a kind. I wouldn't characterize him as a "nice guy". What can I say........
God bless his soul? The irony in that post. I wonder if Hitchens had any last minute doubts like these people so often do? I hope so for his sake.
