Oh, forgot the 'Option" for an agnostic---the one who 'thinks' that he carries a 'spiritual parachute' just in case, and believes that everyone goes to heaven. You know, like how could a loving God send anyone to Hell....ignoring the 'fact' that He is also called a 'righteous & fair judge' and does not condemn the innocent. Hypocrisy is a witch, aint it...
What? No deathbed conversion? I enjoyed Higgins provocative attitude towards mythologies and cults. Personally, I think he did the word a favor in his prominence as an outspoken, self described "anti-theist". I also think he was a brilliant satirist and pundit, and was very quick with a witty response to anything. I have oft incorporated one of his philosophies while posting here. I always think it’s a sign of victory when they move on to the ad hominem.
Does shining the light on your hypocrisy offend you? BTW, have you ever written a post with more than 1-line? Usually that's the sign of a troll...just saying.
how would you know that? Have you talked to many people after they've died about these last minute doubts?
Well, there are many (possibly thousands ) of near-death stories where ppl returned with a whole new outlook on their lives from what they experienced---some what seemed like heaven, others what seemed like Hell. Ever watched "I Survived" & "I Survived...Beyond and Back" on bio?
I understand biology well enough to know, when your dead you are dead, there is no coming back...people who are resuscitated(returned) were never "brain dead", there is no coming back from brain death...
Ironic as he was an atheist. I always thought he was rude when I saw him on TV. He was a marxist who was in total support of the Iraq War. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Hitchens
There have been some episodes of those pronounced 'brain 'dead' that came back and baffled the doctors---might want to watch the repeats on bio of the "....Beyond & Back" testimonies of those who experienced such,; but, you sound like one who will continue to write off anything that conflicts with your faithless ideology. Sorry to have wasted your time....
Right, right, right ... the hypocrite was clearly Blackroot. If we made a comment like that, we'd be attacked left and right, but when you atheists do? Even as you warn people NOT to do just that? Well, like always, you are silent about it. Doesn't prevent you from screaming victim though: http://www.politicalforum.com/religion/222200-ok-you-christians-whats-up-blatant-hypocrisy.html So what is the standard atheists? Should we show respect and not go nasty? Or should we behave like troll boy, and behave like 'objective, rational, unemotional sceintists who ... behave like troll boys? What is the standard atheists?
Nothing wrong with some ppl being sad..just dont white-wash his 'resting' status. Instead of R.I.P., maybe R.I.D. as in 'resting in dirt' (or for some, 'RID" of)
Just trying to keep an accurate 'score card'....I know how nit-picky, er I mean, concerned about the truth, atheists are..
<shrug> makes no diff. I plan on residing in my 'glorified body' as was promised by Jesus Christ in the scriptures...as in R.I.H. or R.I.G....as in Glory, since my final destination has already been 'RIGged.. too..
Good luck with that. There's of course no doubt with your superior intellect and vast understanding of the afterlife that you picked the right religion to get you to this fairy tail like world.
You got most of that right, except for it's "Ever Ever Land"....as in eternity, something the atheist cant comprehend being limited by their telescopes & flawed-thinking brains..
A sad loss indeed, never agreed with his support of Iraq invasion, but agreed with so much else. That is often the nature of brilliant people, their contradictory nature. RIP.
