The only melting is along the coasts due to ocean currents. So much is only recent data on the interior due to satellite data. With temperatures that cold the only way the ice would reduce is through sublimation and is only replace with snow. Sublimation is basically ice evaporation. So the only way the interior ice disappears is if there is not enough snow and recent satellite data suggests interior ice has increased which would make sense if the ocean currents around Antarctica are warmer. That ice eventually flows out to the coasts.

Good actions can always be motivated by different things. If cleaning their smog motivates China to help fix global warming, then it's a good thing.

Great ideas can come from anyone anywhere anytime. Who could have imagined a patent clerk in Switzerland could have come up with Relativity?

How am I planning to commit suicide ?? We’ve been warned about global warming for the last 40 years. Before that we we warned about global cooling. What bad things have happened ?? BTW many good things have happened.

And they are doing that by using scrubbers on their coal plants.

Of course they are. But the alarmists want you to believe that China is worried about the slight warming measured by scientists over a period of 150 years.

They aren’t. ~ 10 years ago Chinese scientists showed that global warming was greatly exaggerated. Then they changed their tune realizing that they could make money and damage western economies at the same time. They have just eliminated their government subsidies for solar.

Here are a few ways America has benefited the world by using Carbon Dioxide.

Mass use of Dry Ice or pure Carbon Dioxide. It is much colder than regular ice.
Mass use in carbonization. This makes drinks taste much better. Humans enjoy the benefits of the gas.
Greenhouses improve production of beautiful flowers that themselves consume carbon dioxide by pumping in carbon dioxide.
The ambient air with more carbon dioxide increases plant growth, adding greatly to the oxygen needed by humans.

Yes. There are benefits of both global warming and increased CO2.

You said they are converting to scrubbers and I agreed. Now you say the opposite. "They aren't"

The effects of global warming are most apparent in the Arctic regions, where travel is less restricted, but the same forces are at work in the Antarctic as well. Ignoring it is like ignoring water seeping into a canoe on a giant lake, where any lack of action increases the chances of disaster. I support action, even if it turns out it's not needed. But this lack of action as offered by Trump & supported by you & others, is highly dangerous, because the data supporting global warming could easily be very real. The consequences of no action are much, much harsher for our descendants than those of taking action.

You minimized his intellect by hinting or impugning he was nothing more than a patent clerk. It afforded him more time mentally to ponder relativity. Had he been a bartender likely he would have been an excellent maker of alcohol drinks.

You set your thermostat in your home to 72 degrees but I as a guest raise it 2 degrees. I doubt you even notice that. So how can warming be dangerous? Different sure but dangerous?

Scrubbers (and electrostatic precipitators) remove particularly particulates from coal plant smoke stacks. The do nothing about CO2 which alarmists claim forces warming.

The Arctic ice cap size is cyclical. It was at the same size in the 1930’s. Warm water flows reduce the size not warmer air.

The Antarctic ice pack which is thousands of feet thick and on dry land is growing.

Science is ALWAYS a process--NEVER a final word. As our technology has improved over the past 40 years, so has our understanding of the Earth & how it functions. We're still in that process. We're still learning. That's how science is supposed to work. But Trump has declared further studies on global warming & its effects on us as off limits. Several long-term scientists employed by our government have resigned in protest. Trump is forcing scientists to bow to his POLITICAL demands or risk their careers. Science should NEVER be subject to politics or politicians. Science should always be subject to the truth, & that only. And, the truth is, we're in a dangerous situation with global warming, & Trump is compounding the dangers by blocking any response action.

This is all a process. Hopefully, they'll learn quickly that they need to do more.

Where has Trump shut down studies on global warming ????

What response action that the US could implement would result in significant reduction in global CO2 emissions ????

It’s a chemical engineering unit operation that removes particulates from coal plant (or any other power generation plant) effluent.

Very few people can claim to be Einsteins. But AOC is a young, energetic, enthusiastic, & dedicated public servant. I like her & some of her ideas. I'm willing to give her time to learn as she serves. The one I really don't like as a professional politician is Mitch McConnell, who I regard as crooked as a snake, & who I hope will be defeated in 2020.

Trust us, it comes to NO surprise that you like an insane alt left radical like AOC. No one is surprised one bit. It's nice to hear you say it though!
