Last I looked it was still 300+, 290 now.

So he won with 25% more electoral votes than his opponent

So he won with 50% more States plus DC than his opponent.

As I said a mandate from the States which elect the President.

the number of states won, is totally irrelevent.

you can win just the 13 biggest states, lose every other state by 100%, and still win the Electoral College.

He has the Mandate.....he won the electoral. The popular vote don't mean (*)(*)(*)(*) and the Nation isn't going to allow 2 or 5 States always being the one to pick a President.

The Electoral College does factor the population differences into the equation; California awards 55 electoral votes. Wyoming awards 3. Wyoming is not a swing state. However, states with low vote totals are, and thus get some attention from candidates who would otherwise be parked in California for much of the election, ignoring the rest of the country (if elections were determined by popular vote).......snip~

Now you just Deal with that fact. Trump is your President. Like it or not. Say it nice and Slowly.....Pres-i-dent.....Don-ald J. Trump.

Oh, and now say it again so it filters all the way thru with the corn. [IMG]

Except the only point I was making was his hypocrisy. Yes, what people say matters when it comes to gauging their hypocrisy. How could it possibly not matter?

    Tell that to Trump.

Can you prove I'm guilty of the same thing? Please, by all means, quote me holding one position previously and another position now. I'll wait.

If you'd like to save yourself some time, I've always supported some sort of electoral college system, though not winner-take-all.

    - - - Updated - - -

And none of that makes the observation of his hypocrisy any less true. The worse you can say about Dems and other folks who dislike the electoral college system is that they have the same position that Trump held in the last election.

Electoral College means if you win all the Liberal states on the East Coast and West Coast, plus throw in Minn, Wisconsin, and Ohio, you win the election.

you can lose the entire South and all of the southwest.

'You all' means more than 'you. Sorry you're too obtuse to comprehend that. Ok. President Trump is a hypocrite. Feel better? Maybe a nap and some warm milk? 'You all' have been calling him names since he announced his run. Do you think 1 more name is going to change his status as president?

the simple number of states won, is totally irrelevent.

you can win the EC by simply winning 13 states.

So if someone thinks there should be a an amendment to change to a national popular note they should not run for the Presidency?

Cutting out the flamebait and just responding to the parts that are actually pertinent to the conversation.

That sort of groupthink doesn't fly. You lumped me into a group that, as I've now explained, I don't belong to. Whether "you" was plural or singular, you are just as wrong in both cases.

Yes, seeing as that's the only point I was making, that's much better.

By winning STATES, they are totally relevant and he won a mandate from them.

    Where are you getting that?

I'll try to simplify this as much as I can: Trump is being a hypocrite when it comes to the electoral college. Those who take issue with people criticizing the electoral college while ignoring the fact that Trump had the exact same criticisms are, likewise, being hypocritical.

So again anyone who crtitizes the way in which presidents are and always have been elected should not run for president because that would be hypocritical?

And, once again, I have no idea how you got to that particular tangent. The one and only point I am making is summarized in the previous post.

Yeah and he almost had Minnesota which was not even supposed to be a battleground state for the Democrats. Michigan has not voted for a Republican since 1988 which is a long time ago. The battle ground states are states that could go either way and two of them which includes Michigan and Pennsylvania have been ravaged by NAFTA put into place by Bill Clinton. Donald talk a lot about how bad NAFTA needed to be fixed so i'm not surprised those states went to him. Hillary would have left NAFTA the way it is and that was her mistake.

In the states of North Carolina and Florida Republicans had a big increase in registered voters. The only swing state Hillary really took was Colorado which they are saying is now more pro democratic and that state also had an increase in Democratic registered voters so that explains why Trump was a little short of claiming that state.

Sure thing. Tell us again how Donald won the popular vote in 49 states.

RW propaganda at its finest. Or saddest.
