Colorado provided "long-acting reversible contraception, such as IUDs and implants, to low-income women at little to no cost. Over the next five years, the state’s teen birth and abortion rates were cut in half."
Can the anti-abortion people claim anywhere near that success? It seems they should get behind programs like this if they are truly wanting to save "babies" instead of spending the next 47 years crying about it as they did the last.

Some articles from LifeSite to address some of this:
Colorado study of IUD effectiveness ignores abortion realities, caveats, and bias
Colorado Planned Parenthood CEO: Abortion numbers in state have been ‘extraordinary’

Apparently these IUDs are being put into girls as young as 12

    What could possibly go wrong?
    https://www.newstimes.com/news/article/Woman-s-IUD-lodged-in-her-abdomen-for-11-years-13617550.php

NY Times even has an article about it
    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/12/well/for-the-teen-who-no-longer-wants-a-period.html (behind a paywall)

basically a reader asks about her 12-year-old daughter getting an IUD to stop her periods, is that too young, and they respond yes go get it

You can see a graph of the Abortion rate in Colorado here:

It's been gradually going down for a while, before the free birth control was put into effect.
If we look after 2008, when the free birth control policies were put into effect, the abortion rate didn't immediately go down by much, not more than the national rate overall. It wasn't until about 2014 to 2016 that we saw a sudden drop, that then leveled off.

This doesn't really look like the free birth control policy in Colorado had much of a direct effect on the abortion rate.

Its not free, but still costs less than generations of Welfare.

Isn't there some kind of lethal radiation our military can come up with to zap babies in the womb without harming the mother? There has to be something.

In other words you don't believe there was a 64% drop in abortions over that time period. Did a similar drop occur in other states without this program? Why do you not want to believe it is true? Shouldn't you be happy so many abortions were prevented? You must not like how they were prevented, right? It is a conundrum. Should we discourage premarital sex or reduce abortions? I see which side you hold is of greater importance.

Do you have trouble interpreting statistics?

There is a graph in black & white for us to look at.

If you read the citation the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment attribute up to two-thirds of the decline to social trends.

lifeshitenews  and an article behind a paywall

of COURSE they do not want to see the only intervention shown to absolutely reduce unwanted pregnancy and abortion because LARCS empower women and there is no way they want that!

Women turning into total sluts and murdering babies is not "empowering women".

You're arguing she can't afford a few condoms, it seems. A ridiculous absurd position.

As if we need to actually hand these out, or she'll have sex without them and get pregnant.

You must have a very low view of women's intelligence.
That sounds a lot like treating women like animals.

Not necessarily saying "don't hand out birth control", but to say this "empowers women" is beyond absurd. Empowers them to do what, exactly?

Hey, maybe we should "empower" men too at the same time?

    Ooooh!
    Birth control is
“Turning women into total sluts” .?? And you accuse ME of having a low opinion of women’s intelligence?

You are advocating condoms - which have a known high failure and lead to unwanted pregnancy over LARCS which are reliable and have a very very low failure rate

I don’t have to do any more rebuttal - that post simply speaks for itself

now I will go and have a shower because reading THAT made me feel as if I have been spat upon

Well, they are a lot more effective than birth control pills.

Maybe the woman should use two of them.

Good for Colorado. This helps the poor avoid pregnancies & should reduce abortions too. Getting rid of R v W will not stop abortions. It will simply make it more dangerous for women who can't afford them.
