A group of Christian priests from a local Coptic church in Egypt were told to convert to Islam or face death, according to an Arabic news site. The incident, which comes in the midst of continued persecution and pressure on Egypts Christian community, took place this week in the town of Safaga, near the Red Sea, the El Balad site reported. According to El Balad, the threats are from a new group in Egypt, Jihad al-Kufr, whose name translates to Jihad against non-believers or non-Muslims. At some point, there will be enough Christians who get mad enough at this kind of crap, and then there will be a backlash. And then Muslims will realize, to their horror, that Christians outnumber them 2-1.
Why not be a 'Christian that gets mad', where it counts, at home, and at those that pour filth on Jesus and his Mother, if you really want a seethe... Jon Leibowitz anyone? So called 'Comedy Central', anyone? Miniature Nativity scene, anyone? Christians. Yeah, right then.
And then if they convert to Islam, and then later decide it's not the religion for them, they get the death penalty for commiting apostasy (leaving Islam) under shariah law. So this little group forces them to convert to Islam, and then a much wider group of muslims, who strictly adhere to shariah law, is constantly there, threatening to kill them if they should ever try to convert back to their old religion. In most muslim countries, if you are a non-muslim and word gets around that you had ever been a muslim at one point in your life, you are not safe. Your life is in constant danger.
Clearly these Muslims completely misunderstand Islam Theres a third option they should be offering for people of the book (Christians and Jews), live as the 'worst of creatures' on earth and pay the oppressive Jizya tax - as the Koran stipulates.
I'm glad I'm not a Muslim. It's a totally sucky religion. You have to pray five times a day, you have to hate anyone different from you, and the only sure-fire way into heaven is to strap dynamite to your chest and kill yourself.
It would be nice if the religous zealots could just chill out for a decade or three. Believe in any God you want just stop killing people who have different beliefs. Any religion that can't follow those rules is not a religion of a God.
We have a named witness.. That's not a guarantee but it's reason enough call attention to it. The fact is, these despicable atrocities are happening all over the world and we know it's a huge problem. Christians are more a target for genocide and hate crime right now it seems more than anyone else.

That is one of the main reasons I am with the LDS Church. None of that weirdness at all. Sure there is other weirdness, but what religion doesn't have its share of that? In my eyes Judaism and Islam are not compatible with anything other than themselves. Christianity, when done properly, should be able to coexist with anybody not trying to hurt them. Other faiths? Not really knowing enough to make an educated guess.
Lately they have been kidnapping Coptic girls, and forcing them to marry Muslim men. When the parents go to the police, they are told the girls converted and got married. If the girls try to escape, then the whole Muslim world is in an uproar over Christians converting Muslim girls. With a mentality like this, is it any wonder they're killing each other off?
Wow. If a kidnapping culture rears its ugly like like that in idaho, it won't stick around long. You can't pull crap like that with a farmer's sister or daughter and not expect a good and proper ethic cleansing. Sounds like if that is the problem than they need to cut the diplomacy, and get straight to the violence. Don't care what religion is involved. But if profiling helps, than use it.
I wish the Scandinavians had that attitude. The are currently experiencing the Rape Wave of the peaceful religion known as islam. In Norway alone, all of the rapes committed have been done by non-white immigrant men from muslim countries. Not most, ALL. At least the reported ones that is. Could it have something to do with the nature of Islam itself? Nah.... /sarcasm.
