Corona virus deaths in Italy and national healthcare

    And we just had a 25 year old teacher die from a heart attack after sitting waiting for a doctor to look at her in a Milwaukee Wisconsin hospital for well over 2 hours.She had come into the hospital complaining of shortness of breath and severe chest pains. Our third leading cause of death MEDICAL MISTAKES.

    Our CDC is now warning of a severe shortage of respirators in U.S.Hospitals.

    I don't know much about medicine but I think a respirator beats morphine when a person can't breathe. And even old people want to live.

    Italy is a small country so 53 pulmonary facilities doesn't sound too bad. In fact you haven't shown that the US is any better. This virus will overwhelm everyone's healthcare system because we just aren't ready for all the sick people. Italy isn't very rich and can't afford the fancy healthcare in the US. Also, South Korea has done pretty good and it has a universal healthcare system too. There are other factors to dealing with a pandemic like hospital beds per capita, physicians per capita, affordability of healthcare, and the nation's efforts to contain the virus. Italy also has a mix of both public and private healthcare.

    Italy had the first coronavirus death on 2-22 and twelve days later the death toll was 79.

    The USA had its first coronavirus death on 2-29 and after twelve days the death toll is 32.

    But the USA has 5.48 times the population of Italy, that is: 331.61 million compared to 60.49 million

    So for the USA to be on par with Italy after a run of twelve days of deaths in each country the USA would have to now have:

    433 deaths.

    But the USA is at 32, a mere 7.4% of 433. And the USA is averaging less than 3 deaths per day.

    On the high striker coronavirus death-o-meter the USA hammer strike barely gets the puck off the ground compared to Italy.

    A glimpse into what is happening here

    We have opened drive through testing stations, there is a state by state co ordinated plan including purchase of required equipment we are making back up plans on back up plans depending on the degree of surge. We are tapping the national stockpile of pandemic response equipment

    And nurses not MDs can independently order testing

    2. What is the ratio of aged population?
    3. What number of infected individuals were NOT identified early?

    Your OPINION does not count!

    Provide FACTS proving that Italy lacks all of the above!

    WRONG again!

    There is no "specialized equipment" needed to treat Covid-19.

    Basic care like fluids and oxygen are the treatment for it.

    Socialized healthcare is like an inept police force, they don't cause crime but they enable criminals just as socialised healthcare doesn't cause a new virus but it's ineptness enables the virus.

    I am old and I have Medicare. I have never been better taken care of and even on a fixed income I can afford care. If this is socialized medicine I like it.

    I'm old too and Medicare is far from free if you want anything but minimum coverage and even then it's not free. Socialized healthcare is "free" as in no monthly premiums.
