    The Australian section here is growing more and more ridiculous by the minute...

    No longer about debate but irrational clap-trap.

    Love that 'the excellent state of our economy'. The government savings did not help, the mining industry( which really saved the economy) did not help, it was all Labor's Spending and borrowing that helped. The reprehensible waste of money the 40 odd billion in borrowings which gave the Australian economy great savings. Yes, you know the Australian economy so well that you do not realise your government is Broke and bringing new taxes to attempt to build the coffers. Flood levee, mining tax and the Carbon tax just to name a few. If the economy was travelling so great why the hell would they need to impose a flood tax? Due to the fact the crisis fund was created for just such a purpose. guess there is no money in that.

    How about the great solar panel failure. ran out of money so within 24 hours simply closed down the program 12 months before review. The, great isolation failure, grocery watch, fuel watch, etc etc . Things are going so great under Labor leadership.

    Compare your life to the life of a refugee. How much would you whinge then? You'd wait on that refugee queue for 200 years. Then you WOULD have something quite real and significant to whinge about, huh?

    ^^^ Sorry, garry, don't get inflamed with my comment. I am truly getting tired of this place. Not directed at you. But the commie bob juliar kindergarten nonsense the hundred climate change threads the utter crap. I might as well listen to Alan Jones... would be the same as what this section is like lately. It's the pits. Don't mind my comments above. Being a refugee would be such a sad and terrible life. We need to count our blessings... our freedom and all that. Like Ian said, I can't stand this whinging, either. I don't mean you, as such. Just the whole total feel of this place lately. It's pretty yuck.

    Oh, I see how it works now, everybody deflects to ideals and issues they think they know about. So, tell what relevance did that have to do with my post. OH wait, I know NOTHING. I see you complaining a hell of a lot about things you really do not understand,

    let me see,

    talk-back-brain-dead
    Anyone notice...

    just to name a couple

    You complain about the people on this part of the forum, yet you contribute in the same manner, strange that you can be hypocritical in your whinging, but that is fine.

    No, think you may have missed your own point here. Ignoring the facts of your own government only means you have nothing to complain about when things do not go your way. If you want to tout the party line and pretend the real issues do not exist, don't bring it to me if you can not stand to your own ridicule. HUH? Great effort though.

    John Howard towers head and shoulders above 'Our Julia'. Unlike Julia he had the guts to

    - inform the public he would introduce the GST before the next election;

    - stand and confront his own constituency when he introduced gun control;

    - send troops to East Timor inspite of the 'snivelling' Left brigade and ex public servants;

    - confront the over indulged Ansett workers on his arrival in Australia in the iimmediate aftermath of 9/11. etc. etc.

    And what doe Juila do when things get a bit tough? You guessed it, she cries. How pathetic!

    By comparision to JH, Julia is a pale and pathetic shadow, bowing and bending to every whim of the shadowy, slippery and slimy Greens!

    You have a very short and selective memory:

    JULIA Gillard says she is prepared to legislate a carbon price in the next term.

    That is what she promised before being elected. That is what she is delivering

    You forgot:

    "The Australian Government knows that Iraq still has chemical and biological weapons and that Iraq wants to develop nuclear weapons." "Iraq continues to work on developing nuclear weapons-uranium has been sought from Africa that has no civil nuclear application in Iraq"
    4 February 2003

    "The Government's position remains that we were advised by Defence that children were thrown overboard, we made those allegations on the basis of that advice, and until I get Defence advice to the contrary I will maintain that position". 9 November 2001

    "Nothing can alter the fact that I have in my possession an ONA report that states baldly . . . that children were thrown in the water." 8 November
    2001

    "I left him in no doubt that there was no evidence, that there were no children thrown overboard." - Mike Scrafton, ABC 7:30 Report, 16 August 2004

    ". . . the behaviour of a number of these people, [on Siev 4] particularly those involving throwing their children overboard . . ." - John Howard, ABC Radio 3LO Melbourne, 9 October 2001

    John Howard: "No, there's no way that a GSTwill ever be part of our policy."

    Journalist: "Never ever?"

    John Howard: "Never ever. It's dead. It was killed by the voters in the last election".
    - John Howard, interview, Tweed Heads Civic Centre, 2 May 1995

    ...and plenty more besides:

    You have a very short and selective memory as well - and a badly edited video:

    JULIA Gillard says she is prepared to legislate a carbon price in the next term.

    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/nat...on-price-promise/story-fn59niix-1225907522983

    That is what she promised before being elected. That is what she is delivering.

    People with extremist views do not have a say in government. Live with it
