You are one deeply confused individual.

But, if you have a comment on that immigration bill, go for it.

You seem to have forgotten that you are the one that kept bringing up that bill for no reason, but I'm the one confused?

    LOL!

    Absolutely not.
I the UK there is always tension between government and private entreprise.
In France à govt is everyone's target no matter which party wins it. Trades unions are seriously strong and the state has a history of balancing on the thin wall between self help and state support.
For example the health care is a mix of tax money and private insurance.
Rail transport is nationally owned but we pay road tolls.
There are always those who champion one side of the wall or the other.

You said everywhere else views government as the source of stuff.
I just explained examples where this is not so.
Further when migrants cross the channel to get to the UK either legally or illegally, they do so in order to WORK either legally or illegally. They want to send money home. They want to support themselves where they couldn't where they came from.
The UK is a common target because it is easy to work undercover and/or the gig econom .pizza delivery in restaurant kitchens etc. There are are no ID cards and now whole system of making people "disappear". The state is the last place they rely on.

It's apparent that you don't really understand what was being discussed if you think it was about illegals avoiding government or if you think it had anything to do with the UK. It was about the traditional American view of limited government being an alien concept to immigrants to the US. Americans have traditionally believed per the Pew Poll referenced in post #156, that they would prefer to have a smaller government with fewer services than a bigger government providing more services. That seems to be a minority view worldwide except in the US, which is why immigrants upon acquiring citizenship, tend to vote for the party of big government and more services, the Democrats.

    I replied to your comment;

Worldwide, everyone else views the government, to a greater or lessor degree, as father, mother, source of stuff.

I sent you a like for this.

because most people do know that Democrat politicians allow open borders. Those are Illegal immigrants/illegal aliens.

Most Hispanics or latinas, are Catholic, and whilst they are against Abortion, the Democrat Politicians bring them here, giving them free healthcare, free food stamps, and free welfare, for many of them, they promise it, and so they expect illegals to vote for them.

they expect their soul, in blood.

This is clearly false. Democrats are NOT supportive of open borders.

One may note the actions of Democratic presidents and congresses - clearly not supportive of open borders.

One can read the bipartisan immigration reform bill of 2013, which Obama would have signed and which includes NOTHING about open borders.

There are lots of issues related to how borders are managed.
The real issue is that illegal aliens are people.

Our constitution explicitly applies to people, not just citizens, for a significant range of rights (not voting, obviously).

Plus, denying humans survival levels of healthcare and food is absolutely immoral.

I'm better off if the people in the USA are healthy. And, anyone who cares about crime should not be interested in creating a starving population.

I'd point out that corporate interests in the USA state that they NEED foreign labor. These aren't somehow restricted to Democrats. They are represented by organizations such the Chamber of Commerce, clearly a Republican dominated organization, which was a significant force in the negotiation of the 2013 immigration reform bill. They demanded that whatever happens with immigration, it HAD to allow for easy access to foreign labor.

Besides, have you not read the New Testament? While I am an atheist, there are sound principles demonstrated by the life and teachings of Jesus as he interacts with other humans.

Anyway, my main point is that this is NOT about purchasing votes. The issues are way more serious. And, only citizens can vote.

Democrats and their politicians aren't for open borders? Wow! Democrats never stop amazing me, with their bs! lmao! We're talking about American Democrats, and their politicians, correct, and not some foreign country?

There are signs printed up for liberals in America to buy. Something about illegal immigration on them, supporting them. Democrat Politicians and Joe Biden are letting illegals into America in record numbers, but hey! Americans! Democrats "aren't for open borders." lol. rotf lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you know what open borders actually means. Our borders are controlled, although not very efficiently in certain places in both the North and South, not to mention ports. The only really controlled borders is at airports on international flights.

The root cause of illegal immigration occurs in the home countries primarily. It is one of the primary reasons why we see illegal immigration, along with a very complex, expensive, and long immigration process, even with some B visas from certain countries.

I would suggest you learn about the immigration system instead of reading websites with extreme political bias, like FAIRUS or CIS or NumbersUSA, among others.

What about most of these "illegals" seeking assylum? drrrrrr. shouldn't they go to the safest available country that is closest to theirs, and no America? Drrrrrrrr.

I believe we need to vent all illegals, so the process should be easier, than what it is, and less costly. However, you may wish to educate yourself on your own ideals.

Being able to walk accross the border, only for border control, to have to let them go in America, or American processing camps, is border control? Since when?

How about the illegals taking busses all over America, but first being flown into America from other Countries.
What would you call that. Drrrrrr. I don't think you know what a border is, or you're using the Liberal special dictionary for your terms. Drrrrrrr. lol.

Asylum is a legal process. We have asylum seekers here from places like North Korea, Yeonmi Park for instance, and others from places like Mexico, Syria, Iran, Iraq, etc. And asylum/refugee seekers go through the immigration process. It is just extremely time-consuming like any other visa from B to K to H to EB. Some wait years and some are still waiting. That is part of the problem. It took me two and half years, from 2001 to 2004 to bring my wife over from her country legally. The amount of paperwork was staggering, the process was extremely time-consuming, and it was relatively expensive, both getting all the paperwork, the filing fees, etc. And that is also part of the problem.

Second, if you are flying into the United States from an international flight, you are not illegal. You go through an immigration inspection. Airports are one of the many places for designated entries and CBP is the agency that handles this. If your paperwork is not up to par, you won't be allowed to go through and more than likely be deported.

Going across the bridge at an immigration inspection point, like through the international bridge at Loredo, Texas, for instance, is how aliens and US citizens are vetted. Easier for a US citizen, but still the same process for any alien going through the inspection point. It is when they don't go through the inspection point is where the problem is, but as I said, the immigration process is long and expensive, which is part of the problem.

That being said, you need to look at the root causes of illegal immigration. Most are coming here for economic opportunities, like the Irish, the Germans, the Swedes, and every other immigrant group that came here en masse from 1787 to today. If we solve the root cause, which is in their home country, then you will get rid of most of the illegal immigration. What we also need to do is stop generalizing, especially the spacious, infantile comments, about illegal immigration and take it on a case-by-case basis.

To put it in perspective, imagine you live in a community, and a fire breaks out in the far south of the community. Will you go help or will you wait until the fire comes into your home, which is in the far north of the community? That is what is going on with illegal immigration in this analogy.

A person has to not believe other people are not inferior to them for that kind of consideration to take place.

Yeeees. and illegals don't get to vote. Maybe take a gander, at the true story on my profile about a democrat running the spot in a huge election poll place told me that he would find a way for anyone who wanted to vote to be able to vote, regardless of paperwork or not?

you need to re-read my original thread in this post. It talks about how Democrat Politicians in America are trying to make America into California. aka bernie sanders dream, or the place where he went on his honeymoon.

Because most of the countries that the refugees and illegals are freeing from, are either now socialist countries, 3rd world countries, or the government controls their own people.

That is why they come to America! The only problem with that, is that The American Dream, is the opposite of Socialism.

Just because one person said that does not mean the entire Democratic Party is for that. I can come up with conservatives who do not want any naturalized immigrants, US citizens who have gone through the process to become a US citizen and took the oath of affirmation. This allows them to vote, along with all the other rights granted to US Citizens. I also know conservatives who do not want black, Hispanics, or even Asians to vote. But if you look at the original laws of this country, immigrants were allowed the vote. When we began to have mass immigration from Ireland, the Nativist movement was able to get the laws changed at the state level and eventually the federal level where no alien could vote. The last state to do this was Arkansas, in 1903.

However, none of what you said doesn't negate my argument here. Asylum seekers are applying legally. It is just that 8 USC 1325 states that any alien can apply anywhere for the process. I am generalizing here, but that is what the law says, period. Thus a person can enter illegally, like many Cuban refugees and asylum seekers did between 1954 to 1980, before the Cuban adjustment Act became Law. The reality is people like you just don't want them here and will use any and all excuses to try to get them not to come no matter if they dot all the i's and cross all the t's in the paperwork.

I did, which is why I asked the simple question, "What makes you think it is just Democrats?" You never answered that question.

Well, you need to differentiate between what a refugee is and what an illegal is. Not all illegals are asking for refugee status. A lot just want to come here and work, period. They are willing to do anything and everything to get here, which is very unfortunate. Some may have to "endure" rape or being a drug mule, but that is the exception, not the norm. As for the cartels, they treat this as a business and that is where they are getting their money, which also fuels their drug activities into the US. They just don't use mules as often today as it was 20 years ago and they don't try to sneak across the border. They will use submarines, airplanes, ships, cars, and trucks. They will pack the medicine in such a way that it may fool the dogs.

that really has nothing to do with it. for starters, even the United States has "socialism" from public libraries to Social Security to Medicaire to public roads and highways.

That being said, they are not at the local cantina trying to figure out ways to piss people like you off. they are coming here because their cousin Lupe is here and told them there are plenty of job opportunities here. And if you ever understood Hispanic culture or Asian culture, family is very important. Family is more broadly defined in their culture than in ours. And because family is more broadly defined, the family from all of these immigrants that include 5th cousins twice removed are talking to them to come over here.

uuum, well it kind of proves itself. lol. I can tell you about my first hand experiences in life, and that's up to you, if you believe them or not. I could care less if you do or don't. But I lived them, so I know that they're real. lol

If you look up where bernie sanders went on his honey moon it was to Cuba. He is a socialist. Kamala Harris came from california. Nancy Pelosi is from California. If you study california they have a lot of people peeing and pooping on the ground because they're homeless, and then they have to pay people 80+ thousand dollars just to clean their streets off, on a regular basis. I'm taking a wild shot in the dark, but I'm guessing this, because I come from Illinois. Illinois is a very corrupt state, and very liberal. it has been known that the Democrats in my state have ruined our budget for over 20+ years. How they get out of it, is that they designate American taxes to pay for their mistakes. The differential they had made in our states budget for so many years goes away, then they can do more corruption, because temporarily it looks like they're actually helping us, more than hurting us. Just like in California.

Look up Venuesuala, look up many of the countries that refugees and illegal immigrants are coming to America from. Many of them started out with the peoples voice mattering, and or a capitalist country, like ours, but then ended up like China as a dictatorship, where a person is only allowed so many children. Or ends up a 3rd World Country because the Government takes over. It becomes a Socialist or Communist Country. Look up bernie sanders policies.

they come to America, for the American Dream. The dream of a house, with kids, and living a middle class life.

With all of the inflation that the Democrat Politicians have caused in America, it's hard to believe, that they actually respect the working man, and the middle class. I can explain it all you want, and give you links, and details, but non of that matters, if you're not going to be open minded at all, but simply ignorant to the truth.

You really need to learn a few things.

Yes, China did have a one-child policy, but it was to Han Chinese. China has some 56 different ethnicities ranging from the Han, the most dominant, to Wei to Uighurs to others. That one-child policy did not apply to all others except the Han. It also applied to the urban areas and not in rural areas. China also now has 1.5 Billion people and a land size very similar to the US, including the land of Alaska and Hawaii. So, they had to make a hard choice, but it is their choice. However, going to American Universities is the platinum standard among the Chinese, especially to places like UC Berkley, Harvard, Yale, and other such schools. China sends some 70000 plus of its citizens on F or J visas. Most will study everything from business to computers to physics to chemistry to premed to political science. Most will return home, some will stay here. And our universities have exchange programs to their universities, like Peking University for instance. They have to take the TOEFL and score the minimum required. But most will go to some sort of intensive English Language Programs or something similar at another university before going to the university of their choice. If an immigrant decided to stay here, most do not get involved into politics, not even my wife who came here legally despite my encouragement. She does vote, occasionally, but not regularly. And you will find that the norm of most naturalized US Citizens.

Now, if you look up Venezuela, which you have not by the way, you would know that Venezuela had a strong economy in the 1970s, until that oil embargo from OPEC hit the US. Beginning in the 1980s, both of its political parties, their versions of a Democrat and Republican party decided to bicker with each other and created the Petrostate. The fall of the petrostate is what got Venezuela into what it has now.
