Deleting Threads Over 500 Replies

Someone told me that once a thread reachs 500 posts, it is deleted from the system. I looked around and I see some threads over 500 that are still here, but locked...are some deleted?

and if so, how do you determine which are left in place but locked and which are deleted off the system?

 

Threads are locked after they reach 500 posts, not deleted from the system.

Anyone is free to start a continuation thread if the thread has been locked for this reason.

 

We don't delete them unless there is a good reason. 99% of the threads are closed.

 

yeah , Mak , I can roll with that , but it's more an auto-site pc server function than anything the Mods do , , , so , , , why don't y'all add more Mods & Advisors ? LOL ?

 

We do add Mods and Advisors when we need them.

 

We only close them when we notice them. We don't always notice them.

 

Which is ok. It doesn't become a problem until the post count of a thread reaches 4 digits.
