well that was what most of the commentators noted-he was doing his best not to look his normal dazed and confused, stuttering and mumbling. There was a bunch of that but it could have been worse. Mispronouncing the name of the young nursing student whose memory is going to be a major issue in this campaign was a gaff, he made some comment about Moscow that was totally off the wall and he noted all the people killed by illegals which seemed rather strange. One commentator noted thirty seven misstatements or bumblings, plus there were the obvious whoppers such as claiming the Dobbs decision was the reason for the Alabama ruling on IVF

well I also believe that those anti abortion types who want a federal law banning abortion should be reminded of their 50 year claim that abortion should be a state matter. Yes, federal jurisdiction over abortion laws can be an unnecessary double-edged sword and pushes abortion into being more of a political baton than it already is. So I don't really recommend it and in Australia the states decide those sort of things.

It's tough to see these extreme types of legislature as a consequence, but in a large country like the US you have to lose some battles to win others. I also think that a lot of trans issues should be decided locally.

Cranky, full of shyte, and entirely disconnected with reality. I watched his speech briefly, and for the little bit of time I watched, he uttered at least 5 lies of fact. Worse, his khamal two jumping bean kept leaping to her feet while the audience audibly groaned each time he uttered these fabrications. I get it. President Biden gave a hell of State of the Union speech, proving he IS in Charge AND is very much MENTALLY COMPETENT.
