Dems represent Black America ‘like plantation owners represented slaves … it’s pure evil’

Reacting to the way that Democrats in Congress seem to be playing the race card as a way to move their radical legislative agenda, conservative pundit, podcaster, and author Candace Owens didn’t hold back her disdain.

“The Democrat Party represents black America like plantation owners represented slaves,” Owens told “Life, Liberty & Levin” host Mark Levin on the Fox News Channel.

Democrats need to brush up on their history, too, before they continue to evoke the Jim Crow era in smearing their political opponents. As Owens recalled, it was Democrat politicians in the south who enforced the “Jim Crow” racial segregation laws.....

As usual, Candace Owens is right! She rightfully calls out the democrats for their bias. For democrats today to accuse others of being what many of them once were is ironic. It is wrong to play the race card to advance their political agenda. It’s great to see conservative African Americans calling out the racism of progressives today.

Yes, Conservatives who talk about Democrats being plantation owners of black 'slaves' have to invoke a scene that transpired over a century and a half ago (the Civil War days).

Seems like a failure of communication. But that's okay. Communication is a tough subject.

You realize that this conservative is herself an African American? She’s right to call them out on their current behaviors and takes on the issues of the day.

 

It was southern religious conservatives that were the cause and enforcer of Jim Crow laws. Trying to attribute that to modern day Democrats represents a lack of credibility and integrity which is a shame as I once had more respect for Owens.

Seems the Republican Party did like always does to anyone with any moral integrity, remakes them into an appeal to the absolute lowest common denominator. That people still fall for it is somewhat fascinating though.

 

No, I didn't know she was an African American. But, this is politics, and people have their own opinions on the issues. It's somewhat insulting that one woman would say that all African American Democrats are 'slaves' to the system unless they put aside their own views and opinions and join the Republican party.

The people who followed slavery up with Jim Crow laws were not conservative. Many southerners who engaged in such acts were quite progressive politically. Look at President Wilson for example.

They absolutely were conservative. Religious white conservatives. The same group that almost exclusively belongs to the political right today.

 

Simply ridiculous...there were many political progressives in the south, even if their religious affiliation wasn’t. Many religious southerners did not get involved in politics until the mid 1970’s for Jimmy Carter.
