. YUPPERS! That is what women do....they get to CHOOSE whether to gestate or abort... Well, you'd be wrong since OBVIOUSLY women can CHOOSE after conception ! 3
No. I never said that. The choice is made by BOTH parties. Abortion has to do with one issue - someone whose actions have lead to pregnancy AND do not want that pregnancy to continue. I didn't ask if you ever had a pregnancy you didn't want. I stated that your position is hypocritical if you've ever had sexual intercourse without the intention of procreating. Those are different. You are the one that tried to call me out with "Speak for your own country..." were you not? I know people that have had abortions and I know people that have basically forced the woman to have an abortion. I would maintain that it is nowhere near "convenient" by any definition of that word.
ONLY that the woman had sex 10 times...HOW TF would you know about other's sex lives? Window peeping?
There is no such thing as a stable and financially secure marriage. There can be the illusion of such but separation and divorce rates, extra-martial affairs and court cases prove, without any doubt, that NOTHING is guaranteed even in the (alleged) sanctity of marriage.
1) Aren't you suggesting that women can't be trusted to make sound decisions prior to conception, therefore must have free access to abortions? 2) No man has a say in sex, unless he's a rapist. Therefore she has full control over conception. 3) Abortion in cases other than medical necessity, rape, and incest are always about convenience, but excuses (money etc) are often used in arguments. 4) I've known since grade school that sex makes babies, and conducted my life accordingly. Like all responsible women do, all over the world. We don't have families of two or three kids because we keep having abortions you know. We have families that size by managing our fertility. 5) No woman is forced to have an abortion. That's illegal. And you're still not understanding that convenience thing. She's decided a baby is INconvenient. Of course, had she recognised that contraception/abstinence are far more convenient than an abortion, she wouldn't be in that position.
OMG, seriously? You have to go out to extremes to hold onto your failing position? CLEARLY, a woman who is in a stable and functional marriage, in which there is enough money for her to stop work to raise a child, an accidental pregnancy is going to be far less of a problem than it would when the mother is single and impoverished. If you're going to argue that, then I'll go get some popcorn.
YES, abortions are for CONVENIENCE. It is inconvenient to lose one's job. It is inconvenient to suffer the harm pregnancy causes....and it's permanent after effects. It is inconvenient to die from pregnancy or childbirth. It is inconvenient to have a kid one can't afford. It is inconvenient to have medical bills. It is inconvenient to have career or education interrupted. Maybe you do everything as inconveniently as possible but most people don't.
No. I never made that suggestion. If anything, I can't fathom why what a woman does with her body is anybody else's business. Why does anybody have to be part of her life if they are not paying for her abortion or to raise her child? The real answer is "It's NOT" but many like to play judge, jury and executioner on matters that don't concern them. This is not as simplistic as you are trying to claim. Our whole social construct is patriarchal. To suggest that women are wholly and solely "in charge" of anything is asinine. This thread, topic and reality prove that abortion is not convenient. You may be using that word to mean it's less troublesome than having an unwanted baby, but the medical, mental and physical aftermath of abortion is anything but convenient. So, it's okay to manage fertility in the way you deem is acceptable, but it's not okay for others to manage their fertility (and family size) according to their own terms? I'm not assuming this is your method but making a point. What if abortion was not the hotbed of controversy it is and the majority of people used it as a form of birth control but birth control pills were less popular and conversial? How would you feel is someone was constantly passing judgment on you and trying to make laws to overturn the right to have access to birth control pills and deny you the right to these medications? Or, do you think it's okay for you to have the right to your family planning of choice while dictating what is best for other people? You certainly cannot believe that people don't do illegal things, do you? Good to know. I was wondering why so many posters were talking about police officers quitting their jobs due to the mass rioting and civil unrest in some parts of the country. They should be happy to know that people don't do illegal things. Again, convenient is not the correct word. Terminating a pregnancy may be a better option than having a baby one doesn't want or cannot care for but to think of it is as "convenient" is ridiculous, AT BEST. I'm not the one failing here. We are not talking about if your hypothetical woman's position is "less of a problem" than someone who is not in a stable and functional marriage. You wrote "If a woman is only taking such risks (relying on less certain contraception) within the context of a stable and financially secure marriage, that's not going to be a problem." as if ALL stable and financially secure marriages are absolutely guaranteed to endure forever (or until one person or both decides they didn't mean their marriage vows) and implied only child/ren resulting from those unions are acceptable.
1) So you're saying women have sole ownership of decisions impacting their bodies. Good, we agree. 2) And now you're saying women don't have sole ownership of decisions impacting their bodies. Which is it? 3) If abortion is as 'inconvenient' as you say it is (and we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that avoiding a pregnancy in the first place is infinitely more convenient), then why are they choosing them? Or are you saying women are too stupid to make the connection between sex and pregnancy again? 4) Resorting to killing unborn children is the polar opposite of managed fertility. It's unmanaged fertility. That's the point here. 5) Absurd. One doesn't involve the killing of an unborn human. Try to at least find an ethical equivalent. 6) On the contrary, I know people do. But I'm honest about their reasons. 7) It's A convenience, it's not 'convenient' .. except in contrast to raising a child. But even just as a convenience, it's strictly buyer's remorse. Like selling off that car you borrowed money on but now can't afford ... and getting only half what you paid for it new. Buyer's remorse should hurt, but never if it also involves another human life. 8 ) OMG you did argue it .. LOL.
Standing in judgment against people you don't agree with is the reason for depression, chemical dependency and/or suicide. You will take my exit from this conversation as some kind of "win" when nothing could be more wrong. I'm glad I don't know people like you in real life. It has to be miserable to be so self-righteous and hateful toward others.
Oh yeah .. it's real hateful to be horrified by the killing of unborn babies who didn't asked to be conceived. The only 'hate' here is the indictment that women are too stupid to understand consequences, and can't be trusted to manage their own bodies. That's what you guys are insisting, and that's pretty damned hateful.

YUPPERS! That is what women do....they get to CHOOSE whether to gestate or abort... Women can have all the sex they want and YOU can't stop them
So why pretend that it isn't a freely made choice? Why pretend there's some kind of 'force' involved in conception, outside of rape? That's what this is actually about .. making sure we're brutally honest, out of respect for women and for the unwitting casualties. Making sure we respond appropriately to the specific behaviour, rather than manipulating for increased failure. And appropriate in this case is NOT enfeebling women (though of course we know that Progressives love to enfeeble women and brown people) by shielding them from consequences. Do that to any sentient mammal and you'll ruin them.
Bovine excrement SQUARED! Women living in poverty CHOOSE to NOT live in "stable and financially secure marriages"?
Thank you for DISQUALIFYING yourself on this topic since you have just established that you lack the requisite subject matter knowledge to engage in an informed debate. Have a nice day!

Ironic given the EXTREMES you are going to with the ABSURD debunked "inconvenience" DRIVEL! Little wonder that you have NOTHING of any SUBSTANCE to contribute to the topic of Denial of Abortion harming women.
