I agree with you. I watched the video and the officer used excessive force given the circumstances. Terminating his employment was not only within the rights of employer-employee relationship, it was proper.

 

I know that was only a little horseplay.

 

Obedience to government is the highest virtue of the modern conservative, it seems. I don't really know what separates the average conservative from the average liberal, other than a desire for bloody violence versus abstract violence for any defiance of an order given by a government bureaucrat.

IMO..sometimes expulsion is necessary for a kid that is a perpetual problem. Sometimes it's just necessary to find an alternative that better suits the needs of a problem child. There are so many various reasons why a kid might not do well in school. I've always believed that a teacher can make or break a class. I was always a good student, but I excelled in the classes that had teachers that were likable and knew how to make any subject interesting. Not everyone has the temperament to actually teach in a way that gets pupils enthusiastic and inspired.

I had not heard that part about the teacher in the story and that in and of itself in pretty disturbing, but why am I not surprised.

I've been tossing an idea around with some teacher friends... they dislike it because they don't like change, not surprising, nobody does... but to solve some of the problems kids have with teachers who they get temporary or passed along to... I thought, why not all the students who start out 1st grade, continue along with that same teacher all the way through 8th grade... create a sense of family more than school... since that seems to be a major lacking component for many of these things... I mean ignore the logistics behind accomplishing it, and think about would that be something that you feel would improve or make no difference in the lives of the kids? having one stable adult who they can learn and grow with, while keeping the teacher on their toes while advancing the grades, and in fact when a student falls behind, they can work with that child instead of simply passing them along to the next teacher and make it their issue... which seems to be a major point in many problems the kids have... it would mix things up for teachers who do the same thing over and over and over again year after year after year and get stuck in limbo not caring and just working towards retirement... give them a second family who they see grow and change and mix up their years by going through all the grades so they don't get stuck in one mental mode... well and I'd like to make this a year round thing for schools, the failing kids usually need someplace safe to go in the summer anyhow...

 

Sounds like we need to ask if the perp is black or white first, then send a cop of the appropriate color from now on. Black neighborhood get black cops, white neighborhoods get white cops and under no circumstance should a white cop ever arrest a black person and vice versa. If there is no black officer around a black criminal is committing armed robbery in the presence of a white cop, then the white cop can only call for backup and must wait for black cop to arrive. Agree?

 

I guarantee you that if my son acted up in school to the point where the cops were called in s/he would be in more trouble than what the cop in the video gave this girl. Hell, I got in more trouble in school for doing far less than this girl did. Did you go to Catholic school? I did and my ears and knuckles still hurt.

When I was in school kids got paddled and if the school called my house it was a beat down coming, but I never saw an officer of the law come into a school and handle a girl in that manner.

The chance of me calling that roid-raging gorilla are pretty much next to nothing. There are other alternatives, like cops that actually do their jobs and don't instantly resort to assault.

That's the way it was, but obviously the left has determined that a white cop is always wrong if the person he is arresting is black. In this case the media immediately reported WHITE COP...BLACK STUDENT.....when their skin color had no bearing at all in this situation. They did this to fan the flames of racism. Like I said, in the paddy wagon death everyone was blaming white cops until uh oh.....some of the cops were actually black that killed the guy.
The left should be careful with this race baiting.......because the only answer is to separate blacks and whites again and police them as separate entities. The race baiting has gotten so bad ...on CBS this morning, they showed evil white cop, then cut to a story about a police officer working with students in a peaceful setting where the students were smiling and you could almost see rainbows in the background. Guess what color that cop was? Secondly do you think the cop in that story was dealing with students like the white cop was or do you think they cherry picked a feel good story in order to make a political contrast?

 

That's how I remember the MSM reporting the story, white cop, black student.

 

Furthermore, did you notice they started editing the part of the video out where the cop gave her the chance to get up? Now the video begin with the chair going over. Fine, like I said black criminal = black cops. Problem solved.

 

The MSM did the same thing with the Rodney King video, they edited out the first few minutes that showed a hostile King advancing on the officers.

 

There's a meta issue. Many in a similar position will shrug in the face of potentially difficult encounters. The criminals and thugs will gain a bit more latitude. The honest and just will shrink into fear and resigned abdication of authority.

Black lives matter is killing blacks. IF BLACK LIVES ACTUALLY MATTERED, BLACK FAMILIES WOULD MATTER THEN BLACK EDUCATION WOULD MATTER THEN BLACK EMPLOYMENT WOULD MATTER.

But only black criminal leniency matters. We are doomed. Thanks Obama and Holder.
