That's got associated problems. Since many departments use affirmative action to hire, the black cops will be on average less qualified. THAT'S discriminatory.

The EEOC has nixed written tests for officer candidates in many areas. No longer is the most qualified hired.

IU found that balck people are some of the most racist people out ther. Calling white people "White boy" or "cracker". Most people in the hood wouldn't be caught chilling with white people, unless they have street credit. even that might not be enough. Only shown in court when the LAPD officers were found not guilty and the black community yelled racism claiming that blacks are above the law so they took to the streets and committed mayhem, arson, robberies, looting, murdering and basically tried to burn down the city of L.A.

The black community biggest complaint after the riots was that it was racist that the white and Korean owned businesses, liguor stores and markets, etc weren't rebuilt with in a week after the riots ended. The same businesses they burnt to the ground.

But they all were wearing brad new Nike and Reebocks and had a brad new television in the living room and the Latinos had a year supply of Pampers.

But it didn't end there, there was almost another riot after the Rodney King riots. Since every liquor store in the L.A. hoods were burnt to the ground the blacks had to travel to the liquor stores in the white neighborhoods to buy or shop lift their 40 ouncers of malt liquor. But they yelled racism when they discovered that the liquor stores in the white neighborhoods didn't sell 40 ouncers. But the riot didn't happen as soon as they discovered how many whites owned guns and actually knew how to use them.

 

When the Richland County Sheriff fires a policeman, it won't look good in Court. The parents of this student should get millions from the school district plus the police department.

 

Millions is excessive but a settlement will more than likely occur.
I do hope the child is charged with resisting arrest, non compliance with a lawful order, and disturbing the peace.

I think I figured out why the chief wussed out and fired the cop. Since Jesse Jackson is involved wouldn't it be reasonable to believe that Al Sharpton and the BLM thugs arent far behind? If that cop hadn't been fired you could bet the slugs that protest, loot and burn down cities were going to show up at some point. So the cop got sacrificed.

 

The cop got fired. ARRESTING a trouble making brat.. was legit. Flinging her across the room..NOT proper procedure. The Student... had been out of line, disruptive,disrespectful... deserved to be arrested, suspended. Was ASKING for some serious 'behavior modification".. but....Police need to go by Procedure. Police can't say.. oh.. I get pissed off and run amok. 2 wrongs don't make a right.. and The outcome here is that the 2 people who screwed up.. ain't getting away with anything... Everryone else.. did fine.

 

Of course they do, and get dragged out of schools by police officers as well.

 

If you let a child escalate a situation, you shouldn't be in law enforcement.

I didn't even see this as a racial issue, This cop prolly had no idea, and being recorded he prolly thought it would be used as education to teach others.
Who woulda guessed we were so darn racist to this day..I joined this forum when President Obama was on the map....now its like...whoaa, people still think this way?, hence why i cant stand conservatives movement.
My mother, as a kid refused to cry when given physical punishment by my grandfather(Iv been told she would actually pass out/faint, instead of crying), some people just need a good "talking to" in order to get them straight. Physical punishment works on some but not all. But...Sometimes it's not an option, in this case it was an option.

Agreed. He should have waited for back up. When it arrived they should have carried her desk and all out of the classroom. Once outside, give her a few chances to stand up and turn around to be cuffed. If she still refused hose her down with pepper spray.

Unfounded opinion? Have you looked in the mirror? She had a cell phone. That is not a crime. She was being disruptive in class, also, not a crime. She wasn't listening to her teacher, again, not a crime. The only crime that she committed was when she resisted an 'unlawful' arrest.

If you actually think she threw her little fit because she is black and can get away with it and she planned to follow up with a lawsuit, then the inappropriate behavior of an overzealous officer, who by the way everybody in authority from the school, the district, and the officers own boss/department says he acted inappropriately/against proper procedures, then the officer handed it to her on a silver platter.

His job is not to be the bubble gum monitor for the school. He is there to attend to criminal activity, and to assure the safety of the students and faculty.

Making it racial solves nothing and only emphasizes the black lives matter nonsense. You do know the officers girlfriend is black right? It would be bad if a student got a teacher in 1st grade that they had conflicts with. Not all teachers and students have personalities that mesh well. A kid could be doomed to horror for 8 years. Sometimes, a year is enough.

 

First, I don't disagree with the firing, but I do think removal as a school resource officer would probably have been sufficient punishment though. Put him back in a squad car.

Second, I think almost everybody actively involved overreacted. The girl should have simply handed over the cell phone to the teacher. The teacher should have then given it back to her at the end of the day. Cell phones are not appropriate to use in a classroom. The problem is that we have castrated teachers to the point that they have almost no authority. The girl knew that. Heck, we've castrated principals to the point they have almost no authority.
