DeSantis Hosts Exposé on Pornographic Books and Media “Hoax” on Book Banning

They cut the broadcast because they could be fined if they allowed the "children's book" images to be put on the air.

They did not specify which books were in which grade level. The book labeled "a teen's guide" was likely at a High School campus. There is are lot of old art books which have been in schools for a while which are far more erotic and far more likely to cause a boner.

So, what happens when this law allows a resident to challenge Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell for being not "age-appropriate". I know! Elect a new school board and put it back on the list. But you can't because the new law says "The school board's decision after convening a hearing is final and not subject to further petition or review." Oh well . . .

Take a look at the video made by a substitute about the empty library. Was that substitute praised by the administrators and school board? Nope, fired immediately.

The school boards and communities already had the power to take care of this problem and the meddling by DeSantis may cause more problems than it helps. He is an excellent politician and will likely get lots of votes but I don't see how this law helps. Just like the substitute I mentioned, the school boards can easily take care of this problem themselves without this law.

All you've done in this post is attempt to justify porn for kids.

The substitute was a liar. The follow up video shows the book titles claimed to have been banned. None were on the list as banned. I posted thoroughly on this in a previous thread where this lie was attempted by members here.

No problems will be caused by removing the child porn Democrats and leftists want in school libraries, other than the problems the left will encounter trying to sexualize children.

 

The State has been the authority of what is and is not allowable content in schools since DeSantis himself was a student. Tis nothing new.

 

Not to mention the impetus for the action came entirely from parental concerns.

 

So, DeSantis handed these books to preschoolers . . . ok, you agree that DeSantis should go to jail then. Or are you pro-porn for toddlers?

Or maybe the state has always delegated the determination of most library content to the local districts and is still going to be doing so after this law is passed although with a state set process which may allow more "porn" in a process which does not allow for any appeal or additional review . . .

Or Florida can jail DeSantis for being a child-porn fiend since he has always been in charge to begin with since the beginning.

Yes, the law is obviously something new and does remove some local control and power. Gaslighting and claiming something else is rather silly.

They do specify what materials are age appropriate for each grade level. The bill specifically directs materials to be grade/age appropriate. Age appropriate materials has always been the litmus test until blue haired weirdo's started to want to talk about their personal sex lives with 5 year olds.

Kids will get around anything given time. When I was a teen ( during last Ice Age) the Catholic Church had a banned book and banned movie list. We used their banned list as an ad to tell us which books and movies to read or see. Pope and Bishops didn’t have a clue.

One is absolutely justified in questioning what the movations really are for these child sexual grooming advocates. No, the school board can keep books you object to. In fact, once they make a decision, it's final and not subject to review. The book stays in no matter how much you protest. So, in a way, you're supporting porn for K-5.
