The funny thing is I’ve already explained it a bit. You just haven’t read.

in any case I’d rather protect children from places they have zero business being than allow for the very real results of them being targeted and focusing on who to blame.

All you have for a defense of your position that children should be exposed to predators is it’s the parents fault and FWEEDUM. What a crock of crap

How bout you actually solve a problem rather than just trying to figure out who to blame for your lousy failures

BTW the OP was completely wrong and spreading misinformation. The bill only bans children from using social media WITHOUT parental consent.

As usual the left invents a lie and then tries to gaslight the gullible I to believing their lies.

Why? Because they responded to what parents demanded and outlawed showing porn to kids in schools?

That is exactly what government should be doing. Protecting innocent children from groomers and pedophiles messing with other people's children.

Greasy Big Brother DeSanctimonious is playing parent. I guess bossing pregnant women around isn't keeping him busy enough.

That's why they have parents. If Greasy Ron really cared about kids he wouldn't have huge teacher shortages caused by Florida paying teachers 49th among 50 states.

How does media sites such as Facebook check for parental consent?

And according to the OP all children under 14 are banned. Are you inventing a lie?

    Learn to read

"Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday signed a bill that bans children aged under 14 from social media platforms and requires 14- and 15-year-olds to get parental consent"

It was right there in the link I provided.

Calling other posters liars is low-life thing to do, especially when your comment only demonstrated your inability to comprehend the topic. It's on you, not me. You sir, have no honor.

It is. The other poster has a habit of coming into threads only to attack posters and to derail the discussion.

Yes, he invented it, and ironically went on to call others liars for telling the truth.

But if the parents buy the kid a 200 mph sports car, which is perfectly legal, and tell the kid "Keep to the speed limit" but he ignores it, after all what's the point of a 200 mph car if you can't be an idiot with it on public roads, but the kid drives at over 100mph and kills someone, isn't it comparable with buying the kid an AR-15 and saying "Be careful with it", so shouldn't the parents be held accountable in both?

Don't laugh, we may be seeing the thin edge of the wedge already.

You are comparing a traffic accident to murder. I don't know about other States, but in Florida, parents are held accountable for traffic accidents caused by their kids. I doubt the car's top speed has anything to do with it.

Florida Statutes Title XXIII. Motor Vehicles § 322.09. Application of minors;  responsibility for negligence or misconduct of minor
    (2) Any negligence or willful misconduct of a minor under the age of 18 years when driving a motor vehicle upon a highway shall be imputed to the person who has signed the application of such minor for a permit or license, which person shall be jointly and severally liable with such minor for any damages caused by such negligence or willful misconduct.

Ok, then your own article contradicted the outright falsehoods you wrote in the thread title. Thank you for at least admitting that you were being dishonest and deliberately writing misinformation.

How about you stop with the intentionally deceptive thread titles?

Sorry, but the forum rules mandate we use the exact wording from the article we link it. The thread title, and none of the posts here are misleading. Everyone except you was able to read and comprehend the posts and the links. You are angry because you failed to comprehend it resorted to personal attacks to deflect from it.

    Get over yourself.

Good for DeSantis. We need more leaders who care about the mental health of our most precious children.

Yes, you need the government to take over parenting because.........think about those 'precious little children' polluting their minds with the evils of the internet. The "government knows best" mentality has taken over the pseudo-con party. TV is going to get banned next, and maybe radio too.

Khmer Rouge in Cambodia called it "anghar", we just call it the Republican party

In this case the government does know best. Social media is doing great harm to our young and vulnerable. Tik Tok is being used by the Chinese Communist Party to influence our culture in all the wrong ways.

In the case of your political leaders the government ALWAYS knows the best, which is why you want them to make the decisions in your life.

In this case I am 100% behind the decision of DeSantis. I am 100% against exposing our young and vulnerable to the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party.

Of course you are. Nanny state authoritarianism appeals to some people.

    1. How close will you be around your children? Isn't it enough to check their status via gps? Not let them play alone outside the house?
    2. If youi want to protect your children then make the cities walkable first.

It’s too bad that actual nanny state governors do not believe in protecting children.
