If social media is a "very important problem", then why are you here using it?

They don't believe the government should take over parenting. Pol Pot, Stalin, Castro, DeSantis and you believe it, but most people do not.

Yes, discussion forums are social media, and fall under the government bans which you support

Yes, and Pol Pot. They all claim that the government knows that is best for you, and they will force it on you whether you like it or not.

Should kids be allowed to buy alcohol?

Should kids be allowed to smoke?

If the answer is no, then why are you against this? I'm yet to see a single study that shows social media as having a positive impact on kids so what's the problem with not allowing kids to create social media accounts if it hurts kids?

Alcohol can actually kill you, and puts others around you in danger. Does comic books have a positive impact? No, so let's ban then too, and TV, and radio, and newspapers.

You like a big nanny state government involved in raising kids, and I believe its parents duty. Different world views.

Pretty much anything can do that, so if you want the government to protect people from suicide, you'd have to ban pretty much everything, including letting kids out of the house.

Whatever makes you happy. You made your point, - you think government imposed bans and restrictions good thing, and I disagree. No point in going on about it.

Social media and children is not a great pairing. Any sane parent wouldn't let their kids (especially daughter) get their hands on a social media account until they've hit teenager status at least.

    **** is a cancer.

Lots of things can kill you, that's not an argument. And show me the studies that show comic books have a negative impact. Otherwise, that's a pathic response. We're talking about things that actually harm kids, not innocent hobbies.

Social media can lead to depression which can lead to suicide.

You're the lefty who likes big powerful government, not me. You were just bound by being a lefty to disagree with desantis and now it's made you look like a hypocrite. Maybe instead of putting politics above all else you should look at a situation and come to your own conclusion. Kids not being on social media before being a teenager is a good thing. You don't have to oppose what's clearly a good thing just because of politics.

You're right, we have different world views. I believe in protecting kids regardless of politics and you put politics above all else.

And you've got blatant hypocrisy from lefties in this thread.

Apparently it's ok to keep kids from doing things like drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, driving cars, etc.....

BUT......as soon as the decision to keep kids from doing something that, research has shown, is a huge negative, comes from a republican, we must oppose this decision. Then they look like massive hypocrites. It's what happens when you make your decisions based solely on politics.

Something come from Desantis?.....we must oppose even though it makes perfect sense.

Of course it is. If alcohol is banned from kids, then so should everything else.

The argument was about lacking positive impact. Do you have to re-write every argument?

There are quite a few comic books which are violent.

So, can mean classmates. As a matter of fact, bullying is #1 trigger.

Um...no, you are arguing for more government, while I oppose it.

Attack the poster....It was only a matter of time. Maybe you feel compelled to support nanny state government, because you support everything your party pushes

No clue what this is supposed to mean.

And you need the government to make sure your kids do only good and beneficial things.

There is no politics here. This is simply a differing mindset, where you prefer a nanny state government, and I do not, and never have, and never will

You believe in government taking over parenting. No clue what 'politics' you are referring to, other then DeSantis nanny state policies, or nanny state in general. What's next? TV? Wrong kind of music? Video games? Cartoons?

I do not support left wing politics. You clear do. As a matter if fact your mindset here is so far left (commie left) that its not even funny.

Drunken kids, or untrained drivers put other people at risk, and when that happens then there is a problem. When your rights infringe on rights of others (or safety or others), then that is where your rights end. I don't care if kids smoke cigarettes. I'll deny it from my own kids, but what other kids do with their lungs is none of my business

You are the only one here who is fixated on who it comes from. Why? Because you think its all about him, when the problem is authoritarianism, which you choose to embrace, and I choose to oppose. Project much?

No. Sorry I don't suffer from mental problems. Maybe you do, since you need a nanny state government to hold your hand in everything.

I have no plans reading his book, and I am sure you have no trouble finding fellow nanny staters, and you found one who is liberal "student of emotion". How fitting. I disagree with nanny state mentality. I already told you that. I'm surprised New York and California haven't done this already.

California and New York don't care about our children. They do care more about illegal aliens however. The Biden administration attempts to dump illegals into Florida but they all leave because Florida doesn't give them free stuff and Florida has e-verify so they can't find jobs.

LOL. Ok. Whatever you say, but they even banned sugary drinks using the very same argument you are using now. The government decided what's good for them, and now Florida is doing the same.

Sugary drinks cause children to commit suicide? Who knew?

    Did DeSantis ban sugary drinks?

I'm sorry you didn't get it. Read up about arguments for preventing childhood obesity, diabetes etc

Does everyone using social media commit suicide? Of course not. Does everyone drinking sugary drinks develop diabetes? No, of course not. Let parents raise their kids.

Enough with the repetition. Have a nice day, and don't forget: The government is there to guide you through life.
