If you want to discuss the issues Americans schools are having that our overseas counterparts are not facing it isn’t because taboo topics are available.

Lack of parental involvement is the big one, lack of resources due to overwhelming red tape and bureaucracy, even healthcare and nutritional issues are linked in many studies but teaching inclusion or tolerance isn’t ever mentioned.

Bullying and school safety as well as rigorous and inflexible standardized testing also usually make the lists.

A prince kissing a princess is not deemed sexually inappropriate while a book with a prince kissing a prince is deemed sexually explicit and opens schools up to lawsuits. Even a rainbow flag or a thousand year old statue can be enough to trigger a red hat parent now.

Why do you think Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, Nashville once were ruby red cities now became reliably Blue city? We liberals are moving in your neighborhood. One of the gift of pandemic is that we liberal can work from home, we can work for liberal , gay loving company in San Francisco but our home is near Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) in Topeka. Westboro Baptist Church can hate gays and lesbian as much as they want but our vote count same as WBC in local school board or local library. We will turn American red cities one by one.

While I agree with you, I live in Florida and there is an incredible influx of people moving to Florida that are all disgusted with the downfall of these liberal cities and I have yet to meet one single Democrat who has moved here. Most people moving to Florida lately are those fleeing the "Liberal crime waves". I am against both sides as I hate those who take extreme sides and only repeat the Left or Right agenda's. Both sides are equally corrupt in fooling the masses.

Honestly, I visit New York and Chicago in the past year and I don't see the crime where I have been and both cities still are fun to visit. Not sure to live tho as I don't have first hand experience.

They, meaning a local school district decided that they did not think a book about gay penguins was appropriate for children aged 8 and younger. The book was not banned. Access to the book was limited to children in grade 4 and above. Should boards of Ed, guided by parental input have the ability to decide which books are appropriate for children? You want parental involvement, right?

And by the way, you complained that these characters were non sexual. The entire point of the book is 2 homosexual penguins successfully producing an offspring to introduce homosexuality as a discussion topic for children 5 - 8 years old. Controversy surrounding this book is not new.

Every major city has crime. NYC , LA, Chicago has crime, murder, high tax, very expansive to live etc. Not because “liberal policy” but they are most populated city in America. You have 8 million people living in NYC. WY, N.D, S.D, MO,WV,ID,NB,AR,MS combined don’t have 8 million people. Should we compare NYC crime rate to all these state together?

In 2019 the highest murder rate in the country was St. Louis, Missouri 64.54 murders per 100,000 resident. . It’s a red state. Baltimore, MD was 58.27 per 100,00. It’s a purple state with GOP governor in 2019. Birmingham, Alabama , a ruby Red State. In 2019 Birmingham, Alabama murder rate was 50.62 per 100,000. In 2019 the murder rate in Chicago was 18.26 per 100,000. NYC doesn’t even make the top 65 list.

Conservative media can rant all the “ crime” story in Liberal City and picture of Seattle BLM protest. People can leave NYC for smaller city, affordable living etc. I live in a small city in Wisconsin. I love Chicago, NYC or LA to visit but these cities are way too populated for me. Either I like to live in these cities or not, these cities are the Best Cities in the world.
