Well, Captain America can always call upon his avenger friend. Either the original 60's one which includes Thor, Hulk, Iron Man and the stupid The Wasp and Ant Man or the new one with Hawkeyes and Black Widow (in the original serie Hawkeye joined after the 6th episode with the Crimson Witch). Thor and especially Hulk can easilly destroy a country. Hulk destroy a few over the serie.

Okay, okay - in all seriousness, I do agree with your assessment. I've long believed that most of the countries that worship Moe have no idea how easily they could be blown to oblivion were we as evil as they say we are - heck, were we as evil as posters on PF say we are. Heck, I remember the Iranian Hostage Crisis of the late 70's; almost everyone I knew wanted everyone in Iran to personally meet their 72 virgins ASAP, and had Reagan been president at the time, it probably would have happened.

Maybe cities, but I don't think whole countries. Thor - he'd probably just cut off all rain to a country. He was once hit by a bullet to the skull and stunned, don't think he could take out a whole country. Marvel usually limits the powers of their heroes, while DC amplifies them. Superboy once towed a chain of planets from one galaxy to another one.



Heck, the Spectre actually did wipe out Vtatava, a fictional country somewhere in DC Europe.

 

Since we are talking about REALITIES...let's get this next one out of the way.

The idea that the United States...the Worlds only remaining Superpower...Worlds Largest Economy having a $17.7 TRILLION Gross National Product...Worlds Largest Consumer Nation...Worlds #1 User of Oil, Gas, Electric and Nuclear Energy....Worlds Largest Producer of Food as the U.S. Farmers grow More Corn, More Soy Bean, More Wheat, More Produce, More Livestock than ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD PUT TOGETHER.

The U.S. alone GROWS 2X the Amount of Corn and Wheat than all the farms in all the nations of the world. The U.S. DONATES more FOOD AID more Medical Supplies and more bottle water than all the other countries of the World Combined and over 600 MILLION PEOPLE WOULD STARVE TO DEATH OR DIE OF DISEASE if not for U.S. AID.

Now when a person looks at just how important the United States existence is to the World at large...then such a person can see that THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THE U.S. WILL EVER LEAVE THE OIL RICH MIDDLE EAST.

It was not me that made the rules or formed the plan....it is just....THE FACTS.

The thing I am worried about is that the Extremists have NO IDEA the level of the response will be should they be so idiotic as to do this again.

Hulk can certainly can destroy a country. The more you try to kill him the stronger he gets (I have the complete Incredible Hulk and The Avengers series reprints). Bullet don't work, nukes don't work. He can be charmed or hypnotized, as the Gargoyle did in the original six episode serie, but this only last a while and the beast will come out again. The only way you can get rid of hulk is by exiling him in a parallel universe.
Specter came way later in the Avenger serie. But if you really want to destroy the world you have to go to the dark side... Try Galactus, the original one not the stupid cloud version of the FF movie.

Kurdistan isn't a country, it's a region. The sanctions applied to all of the kurdistan region within Iraq. The no fly zones applied to all the Kurdistan region within Iraq. The international AID and oil for food programs intended to alleviate some of the detriment to the people of the sanctions applied to all of Iraq. In the north of iraq, that portion within the region of kurdistan, it was administered by the UN. The rest of Iraq it was administered by saddam. In the north, the international aid and oil for food was more than sufficient to alleviate the detrimental health effects of the sanctions, in that child mortality decreased and life expectancy increased when compared to before the sanctions. In central and southern Iraq where international aid and oil for food was administered by saddam, they did not alleviate the detrimental effects of the sanctions. So no, the sanctions didn't cause the increase in deaths. Saddens administration of the aid caused the increased deaths.

I did read at the time of the invasion of Iraq that the soldiers found warehouses filled with medical supplies. That they were probably being withheld from Shias and Kurds is speculation on my part.

No it doesn't. The maestro is only a 1/3 of the hulk. Hulk get splitted in multiples along the storyline. But as designed by it's original creators he is indestructible.
