While some people would rather sit at home living in poverty on government benefits, the vast majority of people prefer jobs and decent standards of living!! Anybody that suggests that an un-employment check is a proper substitute for gainful employment just don't have their facts straight . I know this may be contrary to the opinions of many of my friends here on PF , but there is a popular mis-conception here that I must clear up and straighten out ... An un-employment check will get you by , but just barely , it depends on how much a person is in debt ... it won't pay off loans , but it will pay the power bill and you'll be eating mac & cheese every day , and maybe if you and your wife and kids give up eating , it might pay the rent , , , so it'll keep the heat on and food on the table , and that's about it ... to say an un-employment check is similiar to a lottery winner is just extremely absurd ...
No, but it does offer an important safty net. Additionally, for areas suffering large layoffs (factory closings), it may help protect businesses against rapid loss of demand from their consumers. In this sense it may help against future job loss, or at least delay it.
Here is something that has been going on for some time. IN NV a bunch of republicans and democrats had a meeting to find out what kind of "job training program would work in NV to creat jobs". These ignorat republicans t-baggers and democrats have no other plan than to create a few jobs of trainers to train others in getting jobs. How stupid is that? These fools think that there are jobs open and people are not qualified to work in them. If these ignorat politicians continue their stupid fixes to create a hand full of jobs for their friends or family members, by costing the taxpayer millions to fund a stupid job training program than they all need to be voted out. Why can't these no brain politicians be like Japan's leaders and resign when they fail? They could commit harry carry or something. Fact is if republicans and t-baggers don't want government waste, why make the taxpayer pay for training programs. Corporations need to step up and do OJT and train the employees for their specialty. That is why there are no jobs. Because only a few major corporation monopolies own 90% of the market, and they are playing chicken with the politicians to make the taxpayer pay for the training. These dumb politician, Joe Heck and others have no clue or solutions to any job creation problem. All they can think of is create a larger government cheese eating program that will do nothing to create jobs. Heck, the only job their plan will creat is a job for thier loser friend or relative to be a job trainer. Stupid fools.
