Unlike American football players who dress as spacemen, solely to keep their wigs in place.

Is that the game where an imminent ban is about to be brought in on players who are intent on giving hospital staff and doctors even more work than they need?

That might explain her degree from MIT....as we all know any fool can get in there.

    AFROTC - Detachment 365
Serving Harvard, MIT, Tufts and Wellesley...

    She's positively average I'm sure.

More to the point, let's get back to soccer shall we?

Why don't Americans excel at it?

We do, it's just kids have more diversity here in the sports they choose to participate in.

In England it's cricket, soccer or rugby...

U.S. Women's soccer does very well in International competitions.

I think you have committed a foul and your IQ is about to be kicked into touch. Watch out for your midfield, you know, that place between your goolies and your face, because you may find yourself a half back or even a full back with no place to go forward.

I think your tactics are misplaced today and you are likely to end up between your own posts, or even worse, attached to the crossbar.

basketball surprising has the highest injury rate for team sports based on ER admissions.. I'm don't know why, it doesn't have high speed the contact sport that NFL, hockey or soccer do...maybe it has a lot of knee ankle injuries due to extreme change of direction and facial injuries from contact...

Why dont Americans play soccer. This is why.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_sports_contracts

Aside from the few top players soccer players make jack (*)(*)(*)(*). I think I read that the average salary for a player on an elite league was about $300,000 that is below the league minimum in most American sports.

I haven't the foggiest who the "she " refers to . Are you confusing posts?
Just look at the Medals table at the end of the Games . I doubt that there will be a single medal from Football , Rugby or Cricket . You will get the shock of your life as we mop up in Rowing , Sailing and Cycling and end up top of the table pro rata to population .

Anything is possible , but my Post only " makes sense" as a response to a very strange and confrontational one from an American Poster .
On the other hand , you may be alluding to our match in a few minutes against Ukraine .
On known form we will not lose but like most games , little is guaranteed .
Except when Frankel , the greatest ever Race Horse , is running . 11 out of 11 at Royal Ascot today inning by an astonishing 11 lengths .
    Omen for the Football ? 1-1 ?

The money is amazing -- over one Billion people watch the EPL every week in Asia alone .
But the average figure is not that high .
I doubt that more than three or four are paid 180K or more

The only thing I learned from that list, is that baseball owners are idiots who vastly overpay players.

Why does every thread about sports turn into a juvenile exercise where people say why X sport is stupid and not worth playing? I like the 2 types of football(the American version and the version pretty much everyone else in the world calls football) best, but if other people enjoy other sports so be it!! The standards for what makes a sport good or interesting are entirely subjective!! So people arguing for why one sport is good and another is bad, is an idiotic and fruitless endeavor!!

I bet no one will medal this year at the Olympics in rugby, because it's not a sport that's included in the 2012 Olympic games in London.

It was a response to an American who took a step too far -- their usual foreign policy .
I know it looks and probably is arrogant , but it's virtual reality and like the rest of the decent world , I have an aversion to smug Americans .

That was your "very point", huh? If it was you did a terrible job of expressing it.

Cricket and Rugby are not Olympic sports, while football (soccer) is. Now what the heck are you talking about?

So you show your decency by posting xenophobic trash? That is quite decent of you!!

PS. I love how the people most likely to generically bash Americans in an ignorant fashion, are so quick to criticize Americans for their provincial and sometimes xenophobic attitudes, but then display the exact sort of tendencies. It is absurd.

I have an aversion to smug condescending people also (not US btw), but this is the fun forum and people usually try to put all that aside here and talk like human beings.

raymondo is a ridiculous little man, this thread alone proves it.

Now back to football, i've yet to see the highlights from todays games but from what i was told France really got lucky today after Ukraine's goal was wrongfully denied. Maybe its for the best, now France will play against Spain, and the french stand a better chance then the ukranians. i reall don't want Spain to go much further then the quarters for obvious reasons, being portuguese and all
