So, what specifically am I promoting?
I said, it should take you less than 15 minutes to find them.

Do you know the difference between making a statement, like no guns means no one gets shot. A basic simple fact.
Verses saying we need to ban guns? Which I've never said.

Consider this. Take away the money aspect. Take away the need to survive. If everyone could have everything they needed at the touch of a button are you really certain we'd all turn into video-game playing slobs? Is that what you'd do? Not me. If you have unlimited resources, what would you do? Sit at home and grow fat?....or explore the world? Go help some Third World shithole country dig a water well (which one of my stepchildren families do for their church)?

Socialism doesn't work because of both limited resources and it's authoritarianism. Take that away and what happens?

There is no such thing as utopia. Even people sitting for "free" in their little apartment, playing their guitar and smoking pot all day will have problems. It's part of the human condition. Those who choose to explore the world or off-world can find death instead. Nothing is perfect.

Nice dodge. You dance like a LW authoritarian. :)

Again, I'm content to let others decide for themselves which of us is being deceitful...as most socialists are.

Back to the topic; socialism doesn't work because of limited resources, so the Lefties use force, deceit, lies and whatever it takes to impose socialism on others.

Authoritarian hey. Asking you to find actual posts of me wanting to ban guns?
I guess you struck out on actual posts saying what regulations I'm for.
I guess you struck out on actual posts saying I want to ban guns.

Lies, yes, I've read a few recently.
And yes, your attempted smear went OT.

    Still no posts. Got it.
Should've been less than 15 minutes for you. I'm sure you're still looking instead of posting about the topic.
You want to find that gotcha, that you haven't found yet.

I appreciate the 3% factor but not so often remembered is that in rejecting that tyranny, many innocents will die.

Thats how those things work. People will die from violence, from starvation, from lack of medical care, from disease, and all of those other horrible things that haven't gone away-they are just suppressed currently. THATS what Im worried about.

And socialism brings those things out-talk about 2 steps forward (beating communism and fascism), and one step back.

This is why there is no such thing as "democratic" socialism. If the government controls everything what power do the people have? Answer: None. How is that "democratic"?

But I can't take away the money aspect. Because its real and always has been. Even communism/socialism recognizes the importance and scarcity of money-we just disagree on who should control it.

I also can't take away the need to survive-there are over 200 million dead to socialism in the last century-roughly 2 million a year EVERY year. The Venezuelans are living the dream right now. Hows it going for them?

Free markets and capitalism have done more to deliver the poor from poverty than any other system ever devised. When socialist countries adopt free market principles THEY do better.

It may sound harsh, but a little adversity is a good thing. It keeps people focused and sharp.

The only animal on earth that has all of its needs provided for are captive animals.

That's true for some things, but not for others. If you travel around, you'll be very hard pressed to find people so poor that they can't afford some store bought clothes. There are lots of things that have become so automated that money isn't the problem.

As automation continues to get better, the price of things affected by automation continues to fall to such an extent that it's basically free.

That is the beginning of socialism, where things are so widely available that it's no longer valuable as a privately owned commodity. It's like sunshine or air. Everybody can get it for free, so it's essentially devoid of value.

You writhe "I can't take away the money aspect", but that's not true for everything. Those things that are readily available to everybody no longer have a price that means anything. Like pet rocks, you can try to market pet cockroaches in the projects, but it's going to require a whole lotta marketing genius to get people to pay for a pet cockroach.

This is what automation provides, and we'll eventually get to where pizzas are so ridiculously low-priced that there is no value to the private ownership of a pizza, just as there is no value to the ownership of a cockroach named Dudley, or a pair of shorts that somebody put in a free box, but nobody sees and thinks "OMG!!!! FREE WHITEY TIGHTIES ONLY WORN ONCE!!!!".

But until that magical time when resources that we all want are available for free, we'll have to fight these idiots who think that they're too good for squab caught in central park, but deserve ribeye steaks.

So yeah, the socialists have a point, but right now, their point is limited to Dudley the cockroach.

Yes, money isn't everything, and I quite enjoy going out into the wilderness and making due with what I've got and what I can make on the spot.

I've got a good friend from Peru. He told me there are markets in the mountains there, with white flags.

White flags mean they don't take money-they barter for items.

    Tell me more about automation.

I see a lot of Marxists who seem to think it will set them and society free.

Like it will do their work for them and they will still get paid, to leisure.

I see it as a way to reduce costs.

In my professional life, I would never trust a machine, as my profession involves life and death.

When I say money, btw I don't just mean money.

Im not wealthy, but I make enough not to be immediately worried about it.

    Thats relatively new to me.

What is meant by money, is really resources via blood sweat and tears.

    Earned.

I stare at the heavens each night.

I use binoculars for astronomy. (its harder than a telescope with mount)

    Im a dreamer too.

But why don't we start by keeping the streets free of heroin needles and hep c infested feces?

The left can't manage that, not even in the heart of American leftism-2018 San Francisco.

I will dream, and gladly so.

I won't excuse basic flaws in what is needed for society to function.

Socialism in essence is a criticism of Capitalism. Gained great popularity when unbridled capitalism lead to worldwide economic depressions. They are sort of yin and yang, opposing forces repelling eachother to find balance.

That's just them. If I walk into a friend's house and there are cockroaches hanging off the ceiling, I make my pleasantries and leave as soon as possible.

This is what the left likes, be it in Detroit or Chicago or Los Angeles or Milwaukee, or wherever they happen to infest. What we need to do is to accept that this is how they prefer to live, and to point out to anybody that cares to listen that maybe they might prefer something different to a lefty lifestyle.

That's how their society functions, and I'll be the last to say that they shouldn't be allowed to live the way they want to live. Roaches, AIDS, hordes of homeless taking dumps on the street for the tourists to gawk at...

This is what they prefer, so let them stew in their own fecal juices.

That’s cute. Yet you argue in such a dichotomy when it comes to socialism and capitalism. Terms change while wolf and sheep evolve.

AND WHAT YOU FAIL TO MENTION IS THAT SOCIALISM AS A POLITICAL ENTITY EXISTS FACTUALLY NOWHERE IN THE WORLD! Except perhaps North Korea.

What has taken its place since about 30 years (where have YOU been?) is the political philosophy of Social Democracy, defined as:
The above definition applies to a political entity called the European Union, inhabited by about 510 million souls. That is, an entity far larger today politically than the US.

And as central-policies of their Social Democracy, all countries that wish to join must have both Public Tertiary Education and a National Healthcare System. As such both are far, far less expensive than those services available in the US presently.

    Eat your heart out ...

You're spewing nonsense if you think the products of someone else's labor haven't been taken and distributed to you under a universal healthcare system
