I support a fairer tax system and an absolute law that no income is taxed until it becomes personal income. As Herman Cain has advocated, get rid of corporate income taxes and capital gains tax. Only when capital gains become income should they be taxed at the normal rate.

    For starters.

    No.

    1) These taxes are for Social Security and Medicare. These programs need more revenue or reduced benefits to survive as it is. Why would anyone want to attack these important programs. Shame on Obama.

    2) There is no evidence cutting these taxes will have any meaningful impact on jobs. Any tax cuts at this point should be targeted to creating jobs.

    3) As usual Obama doesn't give a rip about anything but buying votes. I'm sure lower income workers will appreciate this cynical ploy to buy their votes.

Words fail me. That idea is just wrong on so many levels. Why don't I just hand half my income to the next super-rich guy I meet and save him the trouble of having him squeeze it out of me in a circuitous manner?

How can you be such a moron? Don't you see that you're giving far more to government than to any rich man. Those taxes I just mentioned are rolled into the cost of products and services and you think these taxes are good because they "stick it to the rich guy"?

You people deserve what you get. The rest of us don't.

The cap on income subject to the payroll tax is about $106,000. Why limit it like that?

No, my response is that in terms of Medicare and Social Security Taxes, we must reform the process in which that revenue is applied. I would personally have everyone who wishes to utilize Medicare and Social Security have the ability to choose how much of their income they want to have taxed to go towards paying for their future coverage. In this case, the Medicare and Social Security taxes should be voluntary, not required. What should be required is that each employed citizen states whether they are willing to pay into Medicare or Social Security through these taxes for future coverage. This would create a more cost effective Social Security and Medicare system, as people would have more premium-free Social Security and Medcare coverage. To make sure a voluntary system of Medicare and Social Security Payroll Taxes works, a savings fund should be created so that besides a 401(k) or IRA, citizens will have an additional fund that will ensure that one's taxes are actually going towards their future Medicare and Social Security coverage. However, this only deals with these payroll taxes in the context of future Social Security and Medicare users.

Not unless it is tied to privatizing the programs. Cutting these taxes is only further irresponsible government and a massive burden on future americans if they do not coincide with elimination of benefits.

Because there is a maximum limit on what SS recipients can receive.......

Why should I or anyone else have to contribute more to the ponzi scheme........if we both receive the same amount of government pittance?

The Ponzi Scheme of Social Security can be funded other ways........before it eventually collapses like all Ponzi Schemes do.

.....Employers shouldnt have to act as Accountants.......I get out my checkbook to pay my taxes........every American should do the same. .

"No we can't" the dems new slogan

So why have 401ks at all? Lets just nationalize the retirement system. its not fair that some 401ks do better then others.

    Ya, that'll happen...

I would love to see a reduction in my tax with holdings while seeing an increase in athletes who make $65,000,000 a year to chase a leather ball around.
