There are still blacks who were alive during Jim Crow

But even with fewer oppertunites than whites they were still better off than the blacks in africa

Your admission was tainted by the application of those principles by law.

I understand that you think you succeeded entirely on your own merit, but demonstrably by law you were unfairly aided without regard to your merit by the government based solely on your race and gender and at the expense of persons who do not meet those categories.
That's what affirmative action is. By design. Explicitly.

I was alive during Jim Crow---it hasn't been that long ago.
I will never forget about my people's history. Nobody should. Do you think the Jews will ever forget about the Holocaust? Do you think the Armenians will ever forget about their genocide? Do you think Japanese people will ever forget about their internment during WW2? Of course not.

 

I guarantee you I can name more instances of institutional government sponsored racism explicitly against whites that occurs today than you can against blacks.
