Does Fox even have credibility anymore? The election ended that!

Just sayin. Does anybody on the conservative side still truely believe these people when they lost them soooo much $$ and steered them in the wrong direction? I mean for entertainment I get it. But for real credible news? When I want to watch hot women or laugh a lot I turn it on because they are creative. But I don't take them anymore serious than I do when I watch Star Wars.

 

I doubt anybody but hardcore right wingers ever considered Fox credible to begin with. Right wingers are their own sect...almost a cult any more. These folks LOVE Fox, and they LOVE believing n their own little world. Star Wars is actually a lot closer to reality comparatively but, I digress.

 

It's a dam good comedy network if you have a sense of humor and some political knowledge. plus it has some nice leg shows.

Fox watchers are "out there". I don't understand your point. You consider Hannity (for example) anything but a hatetful, bitter jerk??? People are stupid, and Fox watches I've have the unpleasant experience of spending time with are certainly "out there", grossly misinformed and downright ignorant. Not too bright either (as a rule).

However I will indulge a bit: I watch some of the Fox opinion shows but I don't watch any of the Fox news coverage so I couldn't give you an answer as to how their news coverage is or how it compares to the other networks. Same thing for CNN. The only show I watch there is Fareed Zakaria's show. So I've no idea how their news coverage rates. The networks I watch for actual news coverage is NBC/MSNBC. As to the quality of their news coverage, I'm qualified to answer. In the words of The Critic: It stinks!

But I do love to compare what they report to real facts. It's a hobby!

Why? It's like asking an AIDS denialist what their favorite condom brand is.

OT: FOX News viewers have consistently, in study after study, scored very low objectively and considerably lower relative to viewers of other mainstream networks when quizzed on political things. They were far more likely to believe outright lies about the PPACA, the bailouts, and numerous other important political issues. If there is any metric to judge a network by, FOX has failed it miserably, and worse than any other network. There is no comparison. FOX is just that bad.

 

Except in this case the AIDS denialist has already stated which condom brand he dislikes, so I think it's fair to ask which ones are better.

Do you get Fox News in Germany? How do so many people who claim never to watch it are so concerned about it? I said straight out that since I don't watch their news coverage, I don't have any basis to comment on it, so what am I to presume other than that Fox is the most widely watched news network among the left wing world wide?

Meh, I think it's silly to ask that kind of question seriously of someone who you can't expect to have a reasonable answer to anything.

I follow American politics because I'm an emigrant who still has their American citizenship, family and friends in the USA, oh and I visit regularly. People who never watch FOX are concerned about it for the same reason people who don't care what Christopher Monckton and Anthony Watts have to say are still concerned about Wattsupwiththat. A source which disseminates false, incomplete, or bad information, be it knowingly or otherwise, and has a large reader/viewer-base, causes problems. In a democracy, few things are more dangerous than a general public misinformed by propaganda. Of course, Fox goes a step further with its "fair and balanced" approach, which leads its viewers to believe that all other networks are even more flawed, when exactly the opposite is true.

By the way, those "studies" about Fox viewers were specifically designed to come to a specific conclusion. Like most studies, you need only look at who funds them. Howard Stern has done this for years in NY. Did a great one in 08. He didn't even need to edit it all that much. Asked a bunch of people about the election, swapping out names to see how informed they were and all these Obama voters were completely clueless. I guess, from that I'll just have to assume that every Obama voter wasn't aware that in 08, Sarah Palin wasn't Obama's running mate

It is amazingly simple to poll people, especially on politics and get whatever results you want. The fact Obama got reelected is all anyone needs to know regarding how stupid the average Obama is and how they completely accept being lied to on a weekly basis, simply not caring about whatever the man has to say.

I don't understand the obsession with Fox News that comes from both people who love them and people who hate them. Yes, they are biased and, no, I don't watch them because of that, but why are there constant threads concerning them?

Neo-cons have Fox and talk radio, progressives have MSNBC, NBC, CNN, Current TV, etc...

Don't like those stations? Then don't watch them. Constantly discussing them just gives them more attention. It's like free advertising.

 

I think we watch for entertainment! The question is for republicans who got lied to to see if they still look at them for news and if they continue to see them as credible.
