Does Fox even have credibility anymore? The election ended that!

While Rupert uses Fox News to throw red meat to the Right....he uses Fox Entertainment to make money. Interestingly, using shows the Right HATES...like "Glee". Again showing the GULLIBILITY of the Fox News fans....if CBS or ABC were running a show that was "gay-friendly", they'd be boycotting or atleast attacking CBS News and ABC News programming as well. They're not, because they are cultishly loyal to Fox by brand name.

Which shows the genius of Murdoch....he's making his Fox News audience feel like they're "still the majority"...while doing entertainment programming for the REAL majority. And making money on both ends.

That is so much bull. You need to look at reality. You can't lose 5 millions of Middle Class jobs and billions in tax dollars and expect a booming economy. You can't keep expecting American companies in direct competition with China and Mexico to keep paying top wages and benefits. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that.

Yes, much of our wealth has gone to the rich. You don't think moving all those factories abroad didn't make them richer? Who is to blame for making it so easy to move out? Our own government. They could have put stipulations in those agreements that made it fairer and not so profitable to leave, but they decided not to. So you want to put all the blame on the rich. Well your government is as much or more at fault as these companies that took advantage of what government gave them.

How does it help you to keep complaining about the rich. Sure you can tax them more and get some of their money. Is that going to pay our bills? Is that going to give you a bigger pay check? I think not on either one. It just gives government more money to spend. It does little for you or me.

    That is true.

Sad to say (but it is mostly truthful): Wealth and greed tend to track closely together... and they end up being more concentrated at the political Right. People should realize this, by now. If the middle-class isn't healthy, the nation WILL NOT BE. We can always have a few wealthy folks who are able to watch things BURN from a distance (they'll run/hide); but a vast middle-class with real/substantial skin in the game, actually cares about how we do as a NATION.

Yes, there is a correlation that's essentially undeniable. (see the above)

Yes. Every decent economic graph shows that is the case.

    It surely ISN'T good.

I think it can be good... but not the extremes it often goes to to have its way. It all ends up being toxic and oppressive, when it's unmitigated (by a good dose of Liberalism).

    Abortion restrictions? ;)

Like it has been said on other news stations...the Conservative Entertainment Complex is brilliant at the business plan they have to make $$ but not good at education the gop viewers. It's mostly propaganda, and jokes. As long as people watch Fox and take it seriously they will always be behind the 8 ball.

Anyone who wants right wing cheerleading can turn on FOX.

Anyone who wants left with cheerleading can turn on MSNBC.

Personally I don't watch FOX anymore because they have been proven to be liars and idiots.

Even cheerleaders should be held to some level of truthfulness.

Plus I love Hardball with Chris Matthews.

Some people are just too confident. For example... I was sure that Mr. Obama was the right man for the job, but not for any serious period of time did I think he would win easily.

And I think we can look at the winners (going forward) in terms of... how much of the actual TRUTH are they willing to expose and communicate. People hated being LIED to perpetually by a salesman (Romney) who was selling sh__; covering for racism, sexism and homophobia; could not relate to the working man; and having their right to vote restricted by JERKS who cannot convince others that their vision for America is a 'good' one. Unless we end up in some conservative dictatorship... people will always vote for what affects them most positively.

President Obama is NOT a Leftist's-Leftist; but he is a far cry better than handing greater power to an already power-hungry, extremist Right. People could sense that and voted accordingly (IMO).

I always believed that Obama would win, no matter who the GOP put up against him.

Apparently Chris Christie and Jeb Bush believed the same.

I was just pleasantly surprised when Pres Obama won by a landslide -- in EVERY swing state.

    UUURAH!!!

My wife and I love Glee. Hate that they have to put in so much gay stuff in it. But it seems like we are getting a lot of shows with gays in it. But I take it for what it is, I'm not going to yell my head off at Fox just because I don't like that part of it, others do. Why should only my likes be considered and not others.?

There is no shortage of idiots that will continuing allowing people like Rush and Fox News to make millions upon millions of dollars at their expense. If Fox became less crazy, they would lose viewers and become part of the "mainstream media".

I too was an avid watcher of Fox. My conversion began when a friend of mine would come in, see me watching it and asked why I was watching Fox so much.

I looked at other sources, and haven't turned back (to watch regularly). When I do go back from time to time (waiting at McDonald's, where it seems the owners believe it MUST be on 24/7)... I can hear their slanting in mere moments. Maybe that's easier for a gay guy, who couldn't give a darn about what all those blond talking heads look like; beautiful women yes... but it doesn't enhance my news viewing experience one iota. :)

Well to be fair, you need to stop watching MSNBC, because they are liars, which I have proven several times. They are also schemers, trying to trick their audience, which I have also shown. I would hope you would hold MSNBC to the same standards as Fox, but I bet you won't.

Oddly enough, I love Hardball with Chris Matthews for the same reason you don't watch Fox anymore. Matthews is so crazy biased he doesn't see it. It's comedy gold!

But you're not the average Rightwinger...are you? I think it's fair to say that most folks who watch Hannity, surely O'Reilly, think there's a "gay agenda", oppose same sex marriage, and think "Hollywood is forcing homosexuality down our throats" (No pun. :) )

Yet Murdoch makes money off them (via FNC advertising buys)...and Murdoch makes money off of non-homophobes with "Glee" or other shows that the average Fox Entertainment viewer likes....but the average Fox News viewer would call "media propagation of liberal values". "Ben & Kate" or "New Girl" or "Mindy Project". etc

Yep. They report it, but are helping you to decide (in favor of THEIR agenda, which is MONEY and POWER).

    I never said anything otherwise.

Which has shifted to the right, far right over the last 30 years. Thanks for agreeing with me.

Yep and all the legislation that has favored the corps has come from which party?
Thats right it has come from the conservatives.

I've never complained about the rich, but I understand how deflecting my words to fit the party line is something that needs to be done, so an attempt to rebut can be made using the spoon fed fox lines.

Someone earlier posted right. A lot of the gop are embarrassed at what happened. It insults their intelligence.

True.....O'Reilly goes on the air and makes money for Murdoch off the Right by attacking "liberal culture in Media"...then "Glee" comes on and makes money for Murdoch on everybody else.

Rupert's like the guy in the 1920s who takes a cut from donations to the local tent revival run by a Temperance preacher....while running the local speakeasy on the side.

Think "George Babbit" in "Elmer Gantry" where Babbit, a landlord, supports Gantry's crusade on immorality...while collecting rent from a brothel.

I just wonder...when Fox has "expert political analysts" come on in 2014 for the midterms...will they

    A. Sound more like normal MSM analysts when looking at the polls, if they are bad for Republicans...but thus depress the Fox audience?

    B. Try the happy talk again, of "skewed polls" and "Repubs actually poised to re-take the Senate, despite what the polls say"....and thus have their not-as-gullible Fox viewers look on them suspiciously?!?!?

I think you have hit upon the one thing the media has left out of it's coverage of the election, the romney lies.
I think they play a bigger factor in the election than has been mentioned. No one even the blind right likes to be lied to. The right is very good at 'not seeing' certain lies and passing them over, at least in public, like here in this forum. But when the curtain closes in the voting booth, a person really has to look at the lies being told.
Romney told some serious whoppers over the years.

Again start to act a little bit more adult.Ratings are the sole reason to
have a Network or a cable outlet.Ratings are the end all.
Without Ratings then a show or TV program gets the axe.
I shouldn't have to go over that point.
PBS of course is the sole exception.
Even Air America had to learn that lesson the hard way.
