    Thus advocating assault and battery.

I agree but the proper response to this should not be advocating the crime of assault and battery.

Trump Can Keep Any Non-Supporters Out of His Rallies and It’s Perfectly Legal
    by Alberto Luperon | 3:09 pm, January 8th, 2016

It ticked off a lot of people to find out Donald Trump screens his rallies. Yes, his campaign staff actually interrogated attendees to ensure that they are part of the “Make America Great” Movement. That was the case Thursday at his Flynn Center rally in Burlington, Vermont. Anyone not pledging their support was kicked out. And that would have been a lot of people: Burlington is considered a stronghold for presidential candidate and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

That’s mean and more than creepy. A wannabe president and his campaigners are surrounding themselves in an echo chamber. But is it legal? Meh, almost certainly.

The rally was technically a private event like any other which is invite only. The Flynn Center is private property, and people are easily subject to getting kept or kicked out. City officials had already been concerned that too many tickets had been distributed for the Thursday rally: 20,000 tickets for a place that seats 1,400 people.

“If Phish was holding a free concert at the Flynn and gave away 20,000 free tickets, we would cancel the event out of public safety concerns,” Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo told the Burlington Free Press Wednesday. In other words, if Trump wasn’t going to kick people out for political concerns, then the local cops might do it anyway for safety.

And here’s the thing: the rally was free. There were no refunds to give to anyone screened out. There’s no potential for lawsuits based on someone losing their money to a ticket they weren’t allowed to use. There is no protected class here subject to special constitutional considerations. Trump basically had a party and he can invite whoever he wants.

And unless security overstepped a line — maybe throwing a first punch in a fight — there are little-to-no ways to leverage the law against Trump.

So The Donald was legally safe to kick people out. And he was definitely protected when hecklers interrupted his speech several times at the Flynn Center rally Thursday.

“I thought I heard a little voice over there,” Trump said after the third interruption. “Get him outta there! Don’t give him his coat. Keep his coat. Confiscate his coat. You know it’s about ten degrees below zero outside.”

Good thing the heckler hasn’t been reported to have suffered from hypothermia. Then maybe The Donald really would have a legal problem on his hands.

For whatever it's worth here's my favorite part of the story that begs repeating........over & over again:

Yeah.....real "scumbag" of a presidential candidate, but hey.......he's your kind of "scumbag" right?

Oh, and calling President Obama an idiot for oozing class & dealing with a heckler the way a "President" should shows a real lack of "everything"on your part, but look who I'm talking to, a guy that thinks Donald Trump is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I don't want Trump to win, I vote for Bernie. I was just showing some people how stupid it is to believe one can intrude and obstruct on private property at a private rally.

Nope, it is exercising good security. The crime is the intrusion and trouble making.

No, I am a Bernie fan and I totally dislike Trump, but that does not mean I will ignore his 1st amendment rights.
That is not the only reason why I called Obama an idiot. He is a Corporate whore just like Clinton. And if he chose not to secure his first amendment rights, that make him an idiot too.

He's the only decent human being on any of the tickets as far as I can see.

Just watch out he doesn't introduce communism and then accidentally kill 100 million people. :-D

Wrong! It is imperative if we are to stop militant hostility in the US. You pansies never do anything to stop violence and an assault on the 1st amendment.against our citizens. Unless they were specifically invited as known trouble makers THEY DAMNED SURE WERE INTRUDERS.

Yet I support the 1st Ammendment and stand against those who attempt to rob Trump of his 1st Ammendment rights. The only place where you and I disagree is I am against assault and battery and the law is on my side here. Reasonable force has to be used and assaulting a non-violent protester is a crime whether you understand that or not.

It is not assault and battery to confront an intruder at least to the point of violence their filthy mouths are spewing. Better law enforcement drag them out, but if not right on the spot, anyone will do.
