That is a lie from DJT. Oversight of the Capital Police is the Capitol Police Board with congressional oversight by the House and Senate committees, much like oversight of any executive branch of the US Government.

 

Pelosi and her ilk have Ashley Babbitt's blood on her hands. The job of the Capitol police and overseers like Pelosi is to provide security for the Capitol.... they failed... no excuse.

 

Interesting.... a person who was there is not capable of estimating a crowd size.... but a person looking at a camera pan can estimate a crowd size.?

 

And Trump was in charge of the crowd. Who won again?

I want to note a couple things. He had 4 sets of those bleachers. Those bleachers were carrying approximately 20 people a row and there were 10 rows for each bleacher. There are 4 sets making approximately 800 people in the bleachers alone. There were seats in front of where trump was at along with a small area to stand. What you see from the cameras angles is a distortion.

There is a 5th set of bleachers/platform where the media and cameras are sitting. Directly to the left as well as to the right and behind of this area where the cameras are set up in the middle of is a large field.

Now this video is taken earlier in the day when it’s still light outside. Trump came out at approximately 730 or a little earlier. The idiot on the camera said the crowd was still “trickling” in. But people came to see trump. Most of the crowd showed up just before 7pm.

The entire right and left side of that field up to the food trucks was packed with people. FAR more than were in the bleachers.

Anybody who tells you there were 1,000-2,000 people there is a liar or is speaking out of ignorance.

My friend showed up at 3pm and barely got onto the far side of the bleachers. Trump didn’t get on stage till ~7:30. There were literally people camped out in the fields and tailgating the night before.

 

And let me point something else out. When a liberal media station is reporting on trump, if there is a large crowd, theyll do few if any pans of the entire crowd. They’ll show a few shots showing partial positioning of the crowd and then a ton of zoomed in shots. Which is exactly what these guys did in that video I posted.

 

Apparently you didn't read the link posted. The estimate from a news reporter experienced in guestimating crowd size, probably usually wanting to overestimate, stated "1000-2000".

The capacity of a nearby outdoor arena is 20,000. The crowd at the Trump rally was no where near half that size.
I assume you think that what I said was inappropriate. I looked to see if I could find anything that supported the idea that there was that many people there. The point was that the cult following of Trump is waning.

I live close by and the traffic on the roads did not support 10,000 people attending an event in Johnston county.

 

He had NO AUTHORITY to order any response to a domestic law enforcement action. He twice send word to be peaceful 30 minutes after the first breech and then thirty minutes after that.
The security failure began weeks before and Trump had uttered the Capital officials and the DC officials to request to have more NG on duty and they refused and that foes to the topnof their leadership.
Being a foreigner to my country you do no understand our federal system, the separation of powers or Posse Comitatus.

A few notes. Those two sets of bleachers immediately behind trump are joined by two more, one on each side.

I’m standing beside the media area which is to my right. The media area is a blocked off area of about 15 - 20 yards right in the middle dead center of the stage. I got close given the crowd. Behind me the crowd continues down that 15-20 yards of media area on both sides and then fills up some behind it. I’d say 30 yards worth of that same density of crowd is behind me.

You’re right I’m not crowd estimator and perhaps my numbers are slightly off. But anyone who IS a crowd estimator and tells you there was only 1,000-2,000 people there is a liar.

Ashley Babbit broke the law and quite literally, paid for it. No qualms on what the Capital Police did in that situation.

You can repeat that all you want, but it won't change the fact that Ashley Babbit was shot while forcefully attempting to go through a window in the Capital Building like a common, petty criminal.

The capitol police did their job and would have done so if any other person did that under the exact facts and circumstances. Pelosi did not have control of the Capitol Police. The capitol police grossly underestimated what the crowd was going to do once the vote began and they did not get their way to block the vote. Hence, why they stormed the capital like a bunch of drunken fraternity boys and soriority girls on a Saturday night.

 

Where I agree with you is that the authorities greatly underestimated the violence of MAGA and Trump's ability to manipulate them.

On the other hand, if someone had said in November 2020 that Trump would send his supporters to storm the Capitol to overturn the election, no one would have believed him.

Now we know what the MAGA's are capable of and the majority of voters won't get fooled twice.

 

Ashli Babbitt was ambushed by officer Byrd who was literally laying in wait from a hidden ambush position... non lethal methods were available but was not used... the Capitol security videos from Byrd's side of the doors were never released to show the killing from that angle.

The congressional overseers Pelosi and ilk and the USCP provides the safety and security needs of the Congress, the staff, and the many visitors who come to the United States Capitol each day. They failed at their job. There is no excuse for their failure.

Again, a former speaker, I was deeply offended that anybody would do what they did on the Capitol grounds. But as a former speaker, I was also really offended that the current speaker, Pelosi, failed so totally in her job, which was to make sure this didn’t happen. This is a totally nutty environment that we’re currently operating in, and historians will look back on it as a period that’s kind of mildly insane.
Well, I think she’s the person who is most responsible for what happened. It was her job to ensure that there was adequate police and if they didn’t have adequate police it was her job to ensure that the National Guard was there. So a lot of this I think is a dance by the Democrats who don’t want us to look very closely at what actually happened. If you’ll notice, the political committee they have created is, in fact, only looking at political things. They are not looking at the various ringleaders who have not been arrested. They are not at a lot of the details about whether or not the FBI was as involved as provocateurs.
